Spiegl have a page that gets updated after every completed matchday which shows the race to Gerd Müller's record.

I wonder if that record will ever be broken.

It's not such an insane amount that is impossible to reach.

If someone of this nowadays Bayern doesn't break it, it will never be broken. That's the sort of stuff I expected when we signed Lewy...

Never is a long time. ;)

Messi has broken records left right and centre. I'm sure he'd break this one as well. You never know whether the next best player in the world is going to be ours.

I don't think that it has to be Messi to break it... cause we already had someone before who kept breathing down Messi's neck on goals scored. Now with Ribery hopefully recovered for good... that record was never closer.
This place has the best service for strikers... ask every striker who's been here. Who's Luca Toni's best pal? :P

Exactly. That's why I said the record is not too insane of an amount. Lewa would have almost broken it already this season if he didn't miss so many easy chances, and there are still 11 games to go.

If Lewy scored 10 goals in his next 4 games he's on terms with Müller in that season.
3 against Mainz, 2 against BVB, 3 against Bremen and 2 against Köln :P

He'd already be there if he shot all the penalties and the ref's didn't steal two of his goals :P
Without his sometimes mediocre finishing the record could've already been broken.

Exactly why it won't happen. He needs to score 19 more Bundesliga goals this season to break the record.

It's unlikely this season though still an outside possibility, but he has plenty of time to break it in some other year.

I have a feeling he's constantly switching from world class to introductory class... :P
That second goal in Wolfsburg was an absolute beauty, while he had a MUST SCORE Ball that they're still looking for today a few minutes earlier...

*18
Well, around this time last season he scored 10 Bundesliga goals in 4 games (Augsburg, Wolfsburg, Mainz, Dortmund) and an extra 3 against Zagreb :P

No, he's at 23. Müller was at 40.

I thought he was at 22. Ok then, still a lot to ask for IMO.
