Maybe he's not fast as Auba, but saying that he isnt FAST for a striker is crazy. Your idea of pace is wrong, not ours.
Have you seen Aguero lately? Getting slower and slower...

We have to stop looking at the past though. We have a great striker in Lewandowski. He has speed, technique and finishing and that makes him hard to stop. I hope he can improve a bit in the air given his height, but no biggy.

On some level I agree with the last 2 but not "pace"..If you are saying Lewa has pace then your idea of pace is very low....
Pace means Vardy,Aguero,Ronaldo,Aubameyang..

You compared him to superfast players. He doesn't have Usain Bolt speed, just as his finishing isn't the best in the world nor is his technique. He has quite a bit of everything though and while none of his attributes stand out he is well rounded.

Actually Lewandowski's goal/game ratio is better than Gomez'.

Gomez (all games) : 0,64
Lewandowski (all games) : 0,70

Try goals per minute played and it will be a different story. Gomez shared his playing time with Klose, Olic and Mandzukic. Lewandowski normally plays the full match.

I don't usually compare players with hard statistics because they often hide the most important thing, like a mini skirt (whose signature was it who had this statement again?).

This is how I see it:
1. Consider if Lewandowski leaves Bayern now, right at this moment.
2. Fast-forward 20 years, people will talk about our recent strikers historically.
3. The names Gomez, Toni and Lewandowski amongst others will be brought up.
4. Everyone will say Gomez was the most impactful striker given how his time here coincide with our resurrection to European superpower.
5. Lewandowski will just be remembered as a very good striker who passed by us for a bit. Even Mandzukic "did more" than him.

That's why Lewandowski can't be said as our best striker in recent memory yet. Do I think he is technically the best Bayern striker in this century? Yes, I do. But he hasn't yet been given enough time and made the impact that a player of his level can. Let him serve his contract if not extend it and see where he lands amongst Bayern legends, because his ability definitely merits a massive status. For instance I also consider Neuer to be the best Bayern keeper of all time, but the majority of people won't agree because he's only starting to build a legacy.

You need more seasons and more impact to be one of the -let's say- top 5 greatest strikers in Bayern history. Lewy needs just more time and more impact and I have faith in him. He'll be remembered as an awesome striker but give him more time. :)

Spiegl have a page that gets updated after every completed matchday which shows the race to Gerd Müller's record.
