Well, yeah, I meant "above regular" in a way that he still outstands... But his finishing is his weak spot... Also, his movement sometimes is not so good, like in Frankfurt - when the game is tight he needs to move more and switch positions...

Müller has a better striking ability than this Benzema of yours as well... :P

Lewa's evaluated 70M at transfermarkt(our second most expensive player after Mueller, 75M) so there must be a reason for a striker to be that highly estimated and to think that he came for free.
Benzema plays alongside selfish players like Penaldo, he was a different player when he played for Lyon when they used to kick RM ass on a regular basis.
Lewandowski on the other hand is playing in a team with a manager that never really liked #9 even if he earned the Lewamisski nickname in his last year at BVB.

Benzema vs Robert

Honestly, I think muller has better striking ability than lewda does.

I know Benzema gets a lot of unnecessary flak and that he's actually a top, top (top) striker, but get real! Lewandowski is a cut above him at the current moment. Apart from Benzema's longer range shooting ability, I can't think of a category in which he would have the edge on Lewa.

Benzema is better than Lewandowski is almost every aspect ?! LoL... I guess that's why Madrid was desperately trying to beat us for his signature right ?!

Look at how when Madrid doesn't have benzema playing... That's how you can see his importance to the team.

Right now, or before robben's injury, the team was making sure they fed robert well. It's not like he was getting a few chances per game, he was getting tons of chances per game during that streak.

However, at madrid, ronaldo doesn't know how to pass and he takes up a lot of the spaces benzema or a natural cf would. In addition, no doubt in my mind that benzema is a better fit as a striker for pep.

You think? How much can you miss if you score 5 in 9 minutes, can you tell me? ;) The answer is: none (if we don't count in the post and the Benaglio-save SECONDS before the third one... He barely had the ball in Mainz, then he put it in twice... Then there was Dortmund with a high ball and a once-a-year pass by Götze... So again: where do you think Robben took something from him? In the two games he's played where on top of that Lewandowski scored in one? And where do you get the idea he got more balls before? Sorry, but there's no statistical evidence whatsoever for your claim... ;)
Thing is: in Lewandowski we have a player that fits our current system well and is a player Guardiola likes because he's good with the ball... He'S a great striker with strengths in many aspects... But Makaay would've laughed and put the thing in against Frankfurt waiting for what's next... ;)

I think they both were more important players in their previous clubs and were better there than they're at their actual respective clubs. There could be different reasons why... maybe simply because they were more important?
I think Benzema has gotten too much shit in all his years at RM, he was blamed for every other failure of RM even if he wasn't supposed to be their no1 finisher.
I think Lewy here has a better environment than Benzema at RM if it wasn't for the coach who likes to experiment with #9...
It's a tough life at Madrid for every forward whose name isn't Penaldo, they're tearing Bale in pieces...
I like Lewy and Benzema, I wouldn't mind to see the latter at Bayern but I'm not sure that I'd be willing to make a trade yet without seeing Lewy with a manager who doesn't diss #9s.

We should begin an international drinking game. Every time Jancker says something negative about Pep everybody drinks. We would continuously trashed.

I actually find it kind of amusing - every day it's a new problem with the coach  what will tomorrow be?

Except he's correct.

It's not about Pep hating strikers and wanting the worst for them and having something personal against traditional nines. HIS SYSTEM, the system he loves and always said he loves, the ones he used for four years at Barca and 1.5 years at Bayern (before our whole team got injured at once last season) doesn't typical #9. Simple as that. Nothing wrong with that. The same way he doesn't like destroyers, he doesn't like #9 for his system. The same way Mourinho doesn't like sweeper keepers, Pep doesn't like #9.

If you watch how we played in the period when Lewy was on fire, from Wolfsburg match to Dortmund, the way the game was organized was very dissimilar to how we've played in the past. Again, I'm not saying it's something good or bad. But sit down and think about how many strikers have looked good under Pep and you can reach a good conclusion.

The thing I'm worried about is that it's usually always the same problem... :P :D

All kidding aside: at least LEwandowski seems to get along wit him (now)... I think he (Guardiola) has adapted to some players more, knows how to handle Thomas better, talks more to Mario because he realized the youngster needs that... That's actually a PRO on my list...

Evolution of tactics and the position. A striker in Pep's system is not a poacher, but rather must work alongside the entire attacking force. Lewandowski is still positioned as the center forward target, but the role of a striker has expanded - much like Neuer's role as keeper has expanded. If Pep "hated strikers", Lewandowski would not be playing - instead he'd play Götze or Müller as false 9.
