It could be that... but I think he's in form, not wasting chances like before. We changed tactics, now we're seeing a Bayern that has given up on 'false nines' therefore playing more like the Bayern that we knew in the time of Gomez. :P
Remember Gomez finished 2 years 2nd to Messi in the CL goalscorers chart.

This is exactly what Beckenbauer observed yesterday : "Robben and Ribéry used to dribble and finish themselves. Lewandowski is benefiting from their absence".

El Matador didn't seem to have that problem with Robbery... :P except the 2012 CL final were they pretty selfish.

Lewandowski himself certainly thought so.

It's still too soon for some of us who enjoyed those Gomez years

I don't think its such the case for Ribery as he was much more assist oriented. But i do think Robben's absence benefits Lewandowski. I remember the past 2 seasons how Robben had many opportunities to assist Lewandowski and he took it upon himself to score even if it required having to dribble passed 2 more men. Müller, Götze, and Costa are all very assist oriented players so naturally that would benefit Lewa.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lewas numbers drop when Robben comes back but i do think we'll have more goals collectively. So its perfect

Anyone think Lewa will be able to score more goals than Messi or CR7 this season? He definitely has a good head start

Well, Messi is out of the race for a few months, but it all depends on whether Lewy manages to keep his form all season.

And who cares, different league, different circumstances and the most important different clubs. You want to alienate your team mates just go for it and take all the glory on yourself like CR7 does. I don't think Lewy or Muller have that kind of mentality.

Well I care since I asked

But I don't care about what kinda guy CR7 is, scoring a lot of goals doesn't mean your mentality is to alienate your teammates. I think Lewa and maybe even Muller have the ability to outscore Messi and CR7 if playing on top form. Especially Lewa who in the beginning of the season openly admitted he needed to improve his goal scoring even though he hit 20+ goals last season and is already more than halfway to 20 goals already. I still remember when Gomez banged in 40 goals seasons consecutively but sadly didn't get much notoriety because he was more of a poacher and Bayern didn't win any trophies either. But with this winning team I would love to see Lewa or another Bayern players hit those figures since they would probably be Balon D' or candidates since if it included Bayern winning trophies as well

Call me crazy, but I think Lewandowski can be better and score more goals...

Watching the last few games when he had his goal spurt, he could of nailed in +20 goals by now this season. All the hype he is getting is just and he has been such a great team player all these years.... Just needs to stick to his craft and try not to play like a 5 star fifa player.

Months?!? Get your facts right. Messi should be playing El Clasico. Google it out when it is played.

The question is : Will Lewandowski break Gerd Muller's record of 40 league goals, which was set in 1971-72 ?

If he keeps up at this rate I can't see why he couldn't...

No way! ;)

That record is for eternity... Maybe he'll make it to 30 though - would also be great...
