Sanches played well in the beginning...

Very strong and uses his strength to his advantage. End product and decision making is still up for grabs, however, speed, strength and workrate were all shown today... Very exciting prospect next season

Can't see tweet? Click here!

Gotta love doing a twitter search for his name during games. One half is ManUtd fans being sad that they missed out on a talent like Sanches, the other half is ManUtd fans being salty and saying Renato's a fraud
She’s beauty, she’s grace, if u tell her she only watches football for the attractive players she’ll punch u in the face.

The hype around Renato is huge. I'm watching the Colombia USA match and the narrators (Venezuelan) took a few minutes to talk about Renato highlighting his impact on the game earlier. They said the game completely changed when he came in (I partially agree).

If he do not start the next game, I'm going to start a petition against Santos.

Santos doesn't take risks, doesn't change his game much, doesn't trust youth being starters for such game even if the match vs Poland will be decided from the midfielde battle and you need Renato's motor there... He is more stubborn into his philosophy(winning 1-0) than Low is with Gotze!

The talent is clearly visible, yet very raw.

But man, I love the way this kid runs all around the field. A little pitbull.

With that hair and that neverending energy, reminds me of Edgar Davids.

Aren't we all over-hyping this fellow? I'm watching replays of his games and the Portugal games at the Euro and clearly he is a good player but the amount of sheer attention on him is just incredible.

He had a very poor game yesterday (and the game before.) He didn't impress me as a playmaker, as a matter of fact his pass accuracy was bellow 80% yesterday. He was disposed quite foolishly last game and yesterday he almost got a pen for Croatia and some crazy fouls that almost got him carded. He had a shot on target (quite detrimental) and some bad passes.

He got a run to set up the goal yesterday but on the same exact play just before that he misplaced a pass to an unmarked teammate. The thing is, I wasn't really impressed. Not like the games vs Bayern. How he got selected as MOTM is beyond me. BTW, whoscored gave him the 10th rating for Portugal and even then Croatian players had better ratings as well.

I wonder if we should all fall into the hype a la Gotze.

He has shown a physical presence, energy, and dominance in midfield, but his end product needs to be developed a lot. The talent is most definitely there, though. He was successfully able to shut off a midfield consisting of Modric and Rakitic.

Plus, he's got less than a year of professional football under his belt ...

This is what should catch people's eyes the most, the kid is as green as it gets when it comes to professional level playing experience yet his talent is unquestionable. It's great that he can come to a club like Bayern and be molded into a world class player.

We have two extremes, the ones praising him and handing him MOTM and then there's tflags who was left unimpressed. My opinion lies somewhere in between. He didn't impress me much, but I also appreciated his physicality and the goal came through an action he started.

No one is overhyping him. I think everyone here agrees that though the talent is clearly visible, it is still raw.

But his energy and Edgar Davids like hair make him very likeable for me.
