a couple of weeks ago I wrote something like this, a 4-3-1-2 would be perfect ...
trio of Sanches, Martinez and Vidal,
Mueller behind two forwards... Lewa and ? maybe Coman or O:) you know whom I talking about

I like that formation, because with Van Gaal and Heynckes we were very aggressive through the wingers, but now we can be aggressive on the center.

The forwards can be Muller and Lewandowski.

Maybe we could lost some potential on offense and scoring goals, but could get back to a formula for win the champions league.

Those times of playing with high lines should change.

MUTU wrote:It's fun to watch him use his strength like that, but it's also immature. He's probably used to playing with youth team players and having a much bigger physical dominance over them; exerting it against senior players regularly won't have the same result. In some cases I've seen him battling quite needlessly in situations where other players would generally play a pass.

It's good he can do it, and it will be useful from time to time, but Ancelotti will have to keep him under control and teach him teamwork. Hopefully, he watches Müller more than Robben :)

I wouldn't mind Vidal showing him that a huge piece in the box to box midfielders toolbox are diagonal long balls. They share a common role, but Vidal also knows how to create options when all the players around him are pressed. Half of his highlights this year were really accurate diagonal balls to the wing that opened up play when the midfield got stagnant. From what I've seen of Renato so far (which honestly to be fair isn't much more than YouTube highlights) he likes to either pass flat or try and run by himself. I like that he's willing to turn and take on players but Vidal will hopefully take him under his wing and show him that that position is about being extremely versatile and there's always more options if you look a bit further. Either way he is extremely young and I have no doubts he will learn a ton from his new teammates.

A midfield trio of Sanches, Martinez and Vidal, in front of Boateng and Hummels, in front of Neuer? I would say that could stop a freaking freight train from reaching our goal!

I think Thiago will start plenty under Carlo, he likes having a technical dribbling player in his starting 11.

And what happens to all our other forwards? The dressing room atmosphere would be too negative with this. I bet all games would end 0-0. :P

We are not going to find a new Robbery in half a cent. so we have to look for alternatives.
Obv we wont play like that against TSGH or HSV ...
That form can be easily transformed to a 4-3-3

I will be waiting for the thanks after the season opening matches.
I bet that we will play like that

I wouldnt look too much into the game vs Estonia.

Estonia is probably the same level as San Marino and we all know how bad san marino is.

Very, very premature to suggest this... but could he maybe be trying out this position called "rightback" in training soon?

Noooooo leave Renato in midfield. He's going to be the new Vidal 8)

If we're going to convert a midfielder to RB, it should be Kimmich.
