It'll be very tough for him to nail down that RB spot. Alves is after all the Fifa XI RB.
However, I hope Rafinha gets a spot on the WC team.

It's really awesome that 3 Brazilians rejuvenated their NT career while playing for Bayern. Rafinha, Dante & Gusta.

That's awesome news for him. He won't be displacing Alves on the starting roster, but I sure hope he cements his place in the squad for the world cup.

EDIT: reason below :D

Next Bayern record should be that every player in the first team plays for the NT. :P

Not possible, ever. Can you imagine our third keeper being an international?

Scolari on Rafinha

"He was very good today and been good in what I’ve seen from him at Bayern. He has integrated well into the squad," he told reporters [source]

Rafiñha deserves his chance in the Brazil team.

This might be the easiest A vs B player comparison of them all but even as a Bayern fan I have to admit, I still would rather have Alves covering that spot. Twice on Sundays.

The 3 match ban was predictable, but it makes no sense to be happy for it. Lahm could move back to RB anytime Guardiola wanted. Yes Lahm is our best fullback on either side. But let's say Lahm gets injured before an important European game? Who covers right back then? Rafinha will. It is better to have a good player like Rafinha getting games and match practice than not be allowed to play at all. Unless you were one of those fans that was happy that we rotated for the Augsburg game.

A preventable red card, totally unnecessary red card. Stupid, stupid! :coffee:

Agree with Pyrasur, it's never good when one of our players got handed a ban. Having Rafinha for BL games means we can rest Lahm in between (the guy is covering 2 positions now ffs).

And it's not Rafinha as RB that sucks, it's more of the weird tactic of hybrid half-back thing that had been happening - even Alaba had not been as effective. In fact, I believe this season had been Rafinha's best performance ever, Rafinha even had made a good impact when he got subbed in as the RB and Lahm as DM.
