Dortmund players that flopped outside of Dortmund is pretty high. Seems like a ton of them are system players, moreso than great individual players.

"I would say that Bayern have never played better than under Pep," Rummenigge told Die Welt am Sonntag.

"We have always been successful, but rarely been described as beautiful.

"Under Pep, all of us suddenly raved. That's his legacy, I'd say." [source]

We played a most beautiful football under Jupp in 2012/13.

Like if "beautiful" means "pass, pass, possession, pass, pass".
For good football : Neuer - Kimmich, Boateng, Hummels, Alaba - Vidal (Tolisso), Thiago (Rudy) - Robben, Müller (James), James (Ribéry) - Lewandowski

For boring football : 4-3-3

Yes we played beautifull fast attacking football in 12/13. And a rubbish football in 11/12.
Sometimes people ignore that Pep uses possession both as offensive and defensive strategy.

It's a cultural difference I guess.

Enrique won the treble with barca, but no one in barcelona will ever say he is a good manager or barcelona play anywhere near the level Pep's barca played. ZIdane won Champs League, yet, his football is very hard on the eyes for el blancos.

In England, especially with Chelsea fans, they actually enjoyed Jose football, which I thought was horrible.

It's the same thing here too. So many fans slate Thiago here, and prefer Bastian-Martinez midfield instead, however, in Spain, that midfield for the big 2 would of never been accepted.

It's a fact that Thiago isn't half the player Schweinsteiger was, I can't change that(Thiago can), it's based on facts not taste or "cultural difference"

"Cultural difference" would be to compare Bastian-Martinez physical & robust midfield style with Kroos & Modric for example, both world class, both effective but different style, at the end of the day that variety and difference is what makes football clubs or coaches unique, it's their identity.

When I'm going to watch Inter for exampe I know what I "must" watch, rock solid defense, physical midfield supporting a lethal striker.
When Pep Guardiola is in charge of a club I know what I'm going to see, possession, high defense, intense pressing & systematic chaos offensively.

That thing with Thiago(the player) I mean the "love/hate" it was kind of funny in the past, now is a very delicate matter, the one side talks about Thiago like he is on par with Modric VS the other side that make him look worse than Joe Allen.

Bayern fans who don't accept Pep because he was the key of Bayern biggest european humilation against Real Madrid, it's understandable.

But how could Barça fans don't accept Javi - Schweinsteiger, the midfield duo who ate Xavi, Busquets and Iniesta and was the key of the Barcelona biggest european humiliation, 7-0 ? I don't get why.. they should just applause and admire this.

When Bayern get humiliate by Real Madrid, I just appreciate how good was Di Maria, Alonso, Modric midfielder.

And to compare Thiago with Schweinsteiger lol ... I understand Barcelona fan who rather Xavi to Schweinsteiger, no problem at all. But Thiago #-o #-o #-o

I don't think the Thiago fans here act like he's the Greatest Midfielder of all time. Some of us just appreciate when a Bayern player does something a little special.

To be honest you can't compare two player simply by their attributes, or position they play and ignore their contribution , and performances. So Thiago has long way to go as a Bayern player before we even consider comparing him with Schweinsteiger. Does this make him a bad player? No.
Comparing Xavi and Schweinsteiger doesn't make sense either because both player major role for their clubs and country but they come from as @Achilles put it different footballing culture.
