Wouldn't it be great if he turns out just as good or even better than Carroll?

Keep in mind the amount Liverpool paid for him.

Carroll is really good BUT how much Liverpool paid was a joke...Funny enough he is doing better for them than Torres is doing for Chelsea!

Nils, I am hoping that you will end up being Bayern's version of Hernandez from Man United and provide us with some energy when you are in the line up. The more you can give us the better.

I think we are over hyping him by giving him the no.9, such intense media coverage of the signing, etc etc

This is really better than promoting from the Reserves -- as he was top scorer in the 2. Bundesliga (Reserves play at the highest in the 3. Liga), he is really young (like around 23), uses both feet, quick, german and familiar with the Bundesliga system (meaning less adapting time), and a player who is hungry to succeed. And if Bayern turns out to start playing with 2 strikers again, both him and Gomez can be a exceptional young pair. I would have given this guy a longer contract, but it better to be safe if he doesn't quite work out.

We don't need a Chicharro. We have Gomez. Petersen comes in as a back up for Olic who comes as a back up for Gomez. He has said so himself, he knows the ladder quite well...
God, are you there? Shut up son, Gómez is scoring!

Of course I don't think Heynckes will hesitate to drop either if Petersen starts performing.
