He does not seem that much of a loss.... but still, we are being hurt from the same spot over and over: "not having long term contracts with our talents"...

Teaching them to play football, and then having some other club benefiting from it at the end of the day, truly sucks. But that's football and what the lawyers of a certain Jean-Marc Bosman* brought about with them. It's the reality now and we have to accept it. Sometimes we benefit (eg Butt and Altintop) and sometimes we lose (eg Ballack).

As regards Nicola Sansone, I don't know much about him except that he sat on the bench for a few matches when our injury list was looking really bad early this season.

I think the not signing long term contracts is not such an easy solve-able problem.

Tying down players to Bayern - II when Bayern - II consistently performs poorly is not easy. Player's who want to have a shot with the first team will definitely move elsewhere for that opportunity, as their regular starting football is of a poor quality.

We need a good youth team coach who can get Bayern - II to winning ways again which will automatically tie down some of the talents.

Anyway, as of right now I do not see us needing any more youth talent anyway :P , I think two starters every 3-5 seasons is a good ratio.

The problem is not necessarily the coach: I think the problem is the personnel. None of the current Germany U21 play for Bayern II. There is simply too little investment done. It's a chicken and egg situation... if the better players are leaving then it's hard to improve. What they need is a major overhaul. They should buy a good number of young promising players and loan the surplus out to clubs in the 2nd or 3rd divisions.

dont forget that LvG has emptied them from their Best in 1 year only , giving Bayern II no time to replace them

I understand your point and agree with it, but the point I raised was about Germany U21 players:

Element wrote:Alaba

is not German

Element wrote:contento (even though hes back now)

Would rather play for Italy, and he's only played for Germany U20 which is not the same thing.

Element wrote:Mueller

True, though he's only played 6 times for Germany U21. His rise was truly meteoric.

Element wrote:Badstuber

Similar to Mueller, his rise was also meteoric and he's only played 7 times for Germany U21.

Element wrote:Kraft

Only played 1 match for Germany U16 and another for Germany U17. He's never played for Germany since, at any level.

Like Element said, Bayern II lost a lot of talent since LVG came here and they haven't had the time to replace them. It's going to hurt our youth development a lot if they relegate, but it's the price we have to pay for promoting all those players at once. Hopefully some new youth talent comes to Munich this summer.
