If for example Bayern offer 1 million and they refuse, it means the player will cost Koeln 1 million euros PLUS his salary for one year just to keep him for one season in 2. Bundesliga. Not very wise from their aspect.

I was under the impression that players had free-transfer clauses on their contracts if their teams got relegated. Maybe I had the wrong info.

Anyhow there is more to this guy's possible signing here: http://www.tz-online.de/sport/fc-bayern ... 39406.html

They may, but it needs to be a clause. Normally there wouldn't be one, but the contract may stipulate a relegation release set price that may range from 0 to... infinity?

Yep, that sure as hell would beat the 15 minutes of play he had with their first team this season. The ENTIRE season...

What will we do with him? If he plays for our reserve team, it might turn out to be a waste of talent :?

That would be the best thing. Loan him to a low-table BL side in order to shine!

I think our reserves really need this player, as we hurt over the last two seasons -- and he seems to be a mega talent which could be a great player in the first team in the next few years. I think having him come, train with the first team to see what he can do, if he fails the first team cut then play the reserves for a season -- then see again if he makes the cut the following season and if not then loan him to a BL 1 team.

True our reserves lost a majority of their games and a great player like Weiser could help improve our other Bayern reserve players :D :D :D

So our full backs for the next 10 years are Alaba and Weiser. Both very attacking minded and solid in defence (at least i know for Alaba). Me gusta :)

Why is it only a three year deal but not a five year deal?
