They should insert buy-back clauses... and I would call that smart business. We need some clubs to farm our players since LvG is gone.

Too much drama for a sporting director, I rate Eberl very highly but all this attention ?

If I was a Gladbach fan I'd be very pissed from Eberl's behavior, go out man and tell everyone your desire, you're a sporting director for god's sake not a home grown player for MGB, make your position clear no more hide n seek.

I think it's not... he found some gems for Gladbach and we probably want him to do the same here. Him and Reschke would make a good tandem...

With prices going up every day, Bayern has to improve their academy and sign the best young prospects... players are more likely to stay if they create a special bond with the club from their young days. Not all that is on the sporting director but he has some power over that.

Reus, Dante, Xhaka, Dahoud, Christensen, Hazard and etc... he has a lot of experience in this business. You can't expect him to sign Messi for Gladbach...

OK then Bayern will run in debt like them...

#-o Spending smartly > throwing money every chance you get, and keeping your top players > selling them every chance you get. Both extremes should be avoided, but the ideal scenario is to prioritize our youth before spending. Good youth not only saves us money but also provides us with players who have emotional attachment to the club and strengthens the identity of the club. Investing properly on our youth would be far more beneficial in the long term and wouldn't really have consequences. The mere idea of us becoming RM 2.0 in terms of transfer policies (throwing boatloads of money for a team of primadonnas) makes me cringe, and I'm sure many of us wouldn't want that, even if we have the money to do so.

I think the South-South West Germany is more than enough to find best young prospects. Bavaria is the biggest Bundesland in Germany while in Baden-Württemberg there are a lot of talents too. However, I think the problem isn't in the youth players but in our staff who work there.
Our rivals in the other part of München have been working great with youths and their academy works more than fine unlike the whole club and board structure which is a total disaster. The same we could say for Schalke, their club structures on one side and youth academy on the other. Stuttgart felt the consequences of a terrible club management, letting their youth coaches to move to Lepzig and few other clubs thereby seeing their young talents moving to Hoffenheim, Schalke and other clubs. But I guess they won't repeat this mistake, at least if we take a look at their current 2. Liga position on the table.

I'm not sure what will be Eberl's role at Bayern, but this guy knows his job. In other circumstances, the other favorite would have been Christian Heidel, but he has moved to Schalke recently.

I think it's worth a try. We can easily afford it.

The important thing is that we don't give away any players.
