Maybe you're right - I just don't want to risk them being here lifelong by frustrating them too early

If I'm not mistaken, Lahm has been already in the private business waters and from what I've read, very successful. I don't know what business, but my older Croatian mates who support Bayern said this and the recent stories about Lahm's non-playing career at Bayern makes sense.

Max Eberl: „Es gibt kein Thema Bayern“ [source]

He said that there isn't a release clause... he didn't want to make an ABSOLUTE statement like denying the possibility of moving here.

Why is Max Eberl such a good candidate? Dont know anything about him? What makes him so special that Bayern want him?

Valued for his work at Gladbach, good eye for talent, Bavarian and former Bayern player. Definitely more qualified than Lahm. No interest in him has been made official yet, it's just speculation since he'd make a good candidate.

Borussia Gladbach will battle to keep Max Eberl amid Bayern Munich links [source]

BILD: If Max Eberl isn't available for FCB's sports director position, Stefan Reuter (Augsburg general manager) could be an alternative. A former FCB player.

If Eberl wants Bayern, and if Bayern wants Eberl, there is always a way to make it happen. [source]

...According to information from Munich's Merkur, Eberl should have an exit clause for the Bavarians and the Bavarians want to oblige him . The topic Sport Director was discussed and decided internally "without any time pressure", added Rummenigge. There is a clear job profile, it is about "finding the man for the job and not the job for a man". The new Sportchef must have "a high qualification" and fit to FC Bayern. "This task will now be worked out in peace and will be solved by 1 July," Rummenigge said. With a view to the new appointment of Matthias Sammer's vacant sports director's post, which the outgoing captain Philipp Lahm had rejected , Rummenigge does not want to comment on any names. But "in the case of Max Eberl, I would like to say one thing: no one from Bavaria Munich has been in contact with Max Eberl. We will be serious about Borussia Mönchengladbach. "

SPORTBILD: Another possibility is to include Youth-players from #FCBayern to lower the price. Possibly: Niklas #Dorsch and Fabian #Benko.

This youth will do nothing with a guy like Ancelotti there.

Even with a Pep it would be hard
