It will be hard to replace him for sure with a competent individual. I really can't think of anyone off the top of my head. We could even see a 'left field' promotion from within the club.

Some rumors about him taking J.Low's job as head of the NT. Nothing to support that, just speculation.

KHR says the decision was a surprise and they only found out about it in the past few days and hints that the health issue is the reason because it changed his outlook on life.

Sammer refused to take a few months off as a sabbatical.

For us to find a suitable replacement we must first define precisely his job and his qualities.

I am actually quite unsure of his position. To me he seemed like the person between te board and the team, keeping both wellconnected. His qualities are his winners mentality and the ability to stand his ground between alpha men like Guardiola, Rummenigge or Hoeness.

When it comes to replacing his mentality and his character both Van Bommel and Kahn seem very similar. But there are a lot more qualities that we cannot judge from the sideline.

He had a lot to do with the junior team as well. A sporting director is mostly responsible for the mid-term future of the club, that is, 5-10 years.

I remember Hargreaves talking about how Kahn and Effe used to kick new young players extra hard on the training pitch, so... they might be good fits.

KHR said today that there will be a sharing of responsibilities though. He said we will carry on as we have done since April.

I hope it's not, although likely is, a health issue. Best of luck to him.
