Hummels for me was the best CB in the Bundesliga last season, followed by Howedes.

Kompany Can play CB , Fullback and Defensive Midfielder

Hoewdes can play CB , RB and Defensive midfielder

So it is not About Versatility

did you see Kompany play in the Manchester City match against Tottenham, he was amazing made several goal saving tackles and was very strong in the air, if i was to pick on it would be Kompany no doubt

When he was 17 you were like 10 years old:)...I always knew him as a prospect player but he chose wrong direction and never really delivered.

Fantastic, it says we can buy hummels back in 2012 for 8 millions. There is a clause in his contract for that. Uli is a genius if this is true.

That is.. Season after next.. I don think we can wait following the expected departures of DvB, Micho, Braafheid and Tymoschuk
Maybe Uli will like give 15 million for Hummels to sign him in 2011. And if this is true, Dortmund will accept 15 mil for Hummels in 2011 season rather than let him go in 2012 season for half that rate.

If that about Hummels is true, it's a GREAT move by our board.
I'd love to see this guy with a Bayern shirt (again).

Now that would be a great move.

It would be stupid to wait until the clause comes into effect though. We need him for next season, not after the Munich final

Important is this current and next season. One leftback we need to buy this winter. In the next summer we gonna need one CB and one backup(if Micho and Buyten left club together). 15 mil. € isn't too much for Hummels. But we must see in forthcoming spring can Badstuber and Breno play together also in next season, how will they 2 play together... :| If they can play very good, that we have a perspective pair in our defence and Hummels wouldn't be so necessary.

That clause doesn't make any sense. It can't be true

He's come out saying that he's Dortmund through and through and he's dedicated to the team. We may be able to launch the clause, but then he'd still need to agree to a contract from us. And that's where the problem lies. He doesn't like the treatment he got at Bayern.
