Mandžukić would be a great alternative than paying too much to ManCity for Džeko. If this is true, then it would be a good transfer. I think Bayern either can pay alot for Javi Martínez or alot for Džeko -- but not both, it would be stupid to pay too much for two players.

If this is true I am not happy but as long as we win the treble I don't mind not having Dzeko.

Inthink gettin a younger more promising player wud be better like Luuk he has already said he wanted to come to Bayern and he wud not cost anymore than mandzukic he has Cl exp and he is like 22 or 23 he can be one of the best in the future while Mandzukic is 26 and probably hit his peak which is not world class....hopefully Bayern did not sign him to a long term contract hopefully somewhere between 2yrs(hopefully) to 3 yrs(max)

I saw the game of Wolfsburg vs Dortmund and i saw Mandzukic miss too many chances. Not the bomb striker we need.

According to Bild this transfer is close and could take place this week. Now that is fast.

I agree with alot of what everyone said, but he would be a backup and not a starter. Looks like Bayern is trying to add depth now, since our starting 11 mostly seems set. I think this player can provide what we need -- although not necessarily at the €10-12 mill price. Magath has had a fairly good eye for talent, as he also brought Džeko and made him known. I think Bayern are faced with either Džeko (someone who would directly compete with a starting role with Gomez and who wouldn't necessarily sit on the bench) or get a cheaper version in Mandžukić. To me, Džeko would force a dual striker system. No way are we paying €30 mill plus for Džeko to be a backup, and also get Javi Martínez -- dropping like €60- €80 mill just to get 2 players. Anyway, I guess after this week we will know for sure.

I don't think we will know anything until the end of the Euro tournament. I do not FCB making announcements which may distract their players, especially for the semis and final.

Per FCBayernUpdate on twitter: Bayern would pay 12 transfer fee, 3.5 per year and contract until 2016 for Manzukic.
