And there was LvG who preferred Kraft to Neuer. Come to think of it: he didn't want Oezil and Khedira either. Man United will have a lot of fun with LvG.

Yes, there were absolutely. In 2009/2010 everything was meant to be for Adler who had a little advantage over Neuer.
After that injury, everything went completely wrong in Adler's career. It's more than sad to see him today in one HSV.
In 2010 Adler was on Man Utd and Bayern's list together with Neuer. Today he can dream to be a GK of Borussia M'gladbach. :? That's sad what has happened to one of the best German goalkeepers.

The Deisler of goalkeepers. At least he was able to push through after his injury. Life's a b*tch.

That's because he's not guessing. The one thing he absolutely does better than any keeper I've seen is make decisions quickly....and once he decides he commits to that decision 100%. The speed and force with he comes out of the box is just amazing...

That is perfectly put. He used to hesitate more with his decisions and hence make more mistakes but now he is so confident and self-assured and so rarely ever makes a mistake. It is a beautiful thing watch. I don't even get that nervous anymore because I am confident in his abilities!!!!

Heard he did a throw in, and is the first GK to do so in a WC final since 1950s(?)!!!

Ochoa, Navas, Romero all did great but none can compare to Neuer in redefining a GK role!

Keeper-sweeper, false 1, false 5... He is one of a kind truly :P

We're used to seeing him but a lot of people (especially here in the US) don't get to see the BL on a regular. I watch Bayern matches in Spanish with the Spanish language package because that's the only way I get to watch Bayern play. As much as I expect him to come out, he still surprise me with the speed at which he does it. As that Algeria match wore on, the Algerian attackers started to shy away from contact....mostly because they knew he was coming out like a beast.

Even sadder is the better goalie of that time who went before a train..

He was not better, merely more experienced. Undoubtedly very sad though. RIP Enke.

As for Neuer, he's on track to become the best goalkeeper in history.

Die Mannschaft seem to have taken over Spain’s mantle. Their team is youthful and energetic, they often play with no out-and-out striker and they have a wealth of technically gifted players. The Spanish model has not just been replicated though, it has been improved.

The improvement has come through using the 11th man. The man that is almost always overlooked as a footballer, the one position on the pitch where, as a kid, you did not need any skill or ability, you simply needed to be big. This 11th man is, of course, the goalkeeper. [source]

Truly it is 10 against 11 when playing against any team this guy is on.

Or, the team this guy is on is like 11 against the team without Neuer which is like 10... Hopefully you guys get it. :?
