I was trying to Google his penalty versus Chelsea but I ended up clicking on this accidentally.

I saw that Draxler had become his girlfriend, took a screenshot and wondered where it all went wrong!

Guardiola considers the keeper as yet another CB when starting plays. If he hasn't done so already, he will discover soon Neuer is leaps and bounds over Valdés in distribution. Hell, he might use him as a DM if he wasn't so attached to thin & light midfielders.

This. Neuer is the quintessential sweeper-keeper. He dribbles, passes, tackles and shoots penalties when necessary. He's better on the ball than every other goalkeeper on this planet, and he's still a brilliant shot-stopper. The chaos at Schalke and then the pressure at Bayern developed him into an excellent keeper and player.

I don't actually agree about Neuer being the best goalkeeper with the ball at his feet. He has excellent distribution especially with his hands and also with his feet but he has sometimes that Gomezque first touch on the ball but not as bad which still worries me when controlling a back pass from a team mate. Especially when he literally rushes towards the ball and tries to control it.

I sort of agree with you. I think he doesn't look natural with the call at his feet. But he has a lot of confidence in himself and that rubs off on the rest of the team.

Neuer was on the front of today's match programme.

Maybe in europe, Neuer is one of the best with his feet, but in the world, Rogerio Ceni from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

^ Man! Who is this guy? Scoring FKs like child's play. :o

Neuer can easily score a penalty so they are on par there. But FKs, this guy is good.
Neuer might curl but his right foot is like a rocket. IMO if you'd give the ball to Neuer to take a FK, his pile-driver shot would either burn up a hole in net or the person who'd try to stop would be in hospital. And I'm damn serious that it'd happen if he takes a FK. :D

In europe, the goalkeepers doenst have to much freedom to play with the ball in their feet, like the goalkeepers in America have.

Campos (GK) from Mexico, Chilavert (GK) from Paraguay, Ceni from Brazil and Higuita (Colombia) are the ones who are consider the most talented GK with their feet and all of them came from America, so for me its about culture in football.

Coaches in europe are more strict in this aspect, they dont allow the GK to possess to much time the ball in their feet, they must pass to the nearest defense or shoot it, so they cant develop great skills with the ball.
