after what I saw in semi final against italy, and against leverkusen yesterday, and also on many other occasions, Manuel Neuer should be the captain of both bayern and NT. he has the most character in current german players(that are good). he has that never die character, he has the right kinda balls(penalty against Chelsea). well maybe at bayern he's a rookie, and still considered as a schalke boy, so for now lahm should remain a captain, but at NT it doesn't matter, he has enough experience,

Bastian should be Bayern's Captain. But I do agree on the NT thingy

Bastian is a flop as a leader.
I thought he would carry the team but he might have the looks of a captain, his personality is far from one.

We've seen that basicaly everytime Bayern is in trouble he doesn't step up. Perhaps his penalty against Real MAdrid is the only time he showed some leader characteristics. But in the CL Final vs Chelsea he was mentally probably our weakest player. Lahm was much more a leader, too bad he is so small, soft, friendly and unintimidating.

Neuer is the man.

Neuer was awesome against Leverkusen, neither goal was his fault.

I will admit, last season I would cringe at the thought of him dribbling and overhandling the ball. Yesterday, he looked more like a CDM. It would have been nice to have Pizzaro score at the end, considering Neuer was involved in the build up, but it was just one of those days and one of those matches where a victory wasn't meant to be.

I am very optimistic that Bayern will do well in all competitions this season and a lot of that has to do with our world class GK.

Being the leader of a team is not dependent on whether or not you can take penalties well. The Brave John Terry (tm) missed a CL winning penalty in Moscow, for example.

Wow, do you think I was referring to that penalty?
No. It was his attitude in the game. He couldn't watch Robben take the penalty. He sat like a crying baby at the halfway line instead of showing confidence to Robben. Can you imagine a captain doing that? Can you imagine Effenberg sitting there at the halfway line? No.

He basically seemed more concerned about how he looked to the fans and media than the game itself. I watched the final from the stadium. The one player I was most dissapointed in was Basti. Not Olic, not Robben. Nope, it was my favorite player Basti and that says a lot.

He's not the leader I hoped him to be and the fact that so far he doesn't step up when it is needed says it all.

And then in another shot he is urging his teammates on and looks full of confidence. The camera can play a lot of tricks on you.

There's a keeper like Neuer.
Then there's a good keeper.
And then there's a bad keeper.
Then there's 50 piles of shit.
And finally, there's Wiese.
Jesus saves, but Kahn does it better ;)

I wish Hertha was still lingering around first division. Love[edit] to see Kraft on that list. Anyhow great info.
