Yeah, then we'd have a new prediction game... guess Neuer's black eyes  Possibilities are:
- no black eyes
- left black eye
- right black eye
- both black eyes.

That would definitely be something curious of Kahn ever became a GK coach over Neuer. Kahn's the kind of guy though to use it to his advantage, so if Neuer is hurt he would stand in as keeper again for old times sake ;)

I have no idea what you mean by "aerial clumsiness and movement from the line", but he sure could train that aura of fear into Neuer. Kahn had the kind of face you want to run away from really fast, Neuer has the kind of face you want to pinch the cheeks of.

I think he runs like an ostrich! A bit uncoordinated and can flap a bit at crosses... But he does distribute the ball very quickly and is a major plus for him.

That sounds more like a vampire than an ostrich, to be honest.

Sepp Maier says he wouldn't have signed Neuer...

http://www.goal.com/en/news/596/exclusive/2012/03/13/2964084/sepp-maier-i-would-not-have-signed-neuer-for-bayern-munich

Former Germany international Sepp Maier has stated that he would not have signed Manuel Neuer for Bayern Munich last summer.

The Bundesliga giants lured Neuer away from Schalke ahead of the 2011-12 campaign, but Maier feels that they already had a good goalkeeper in Thomas Kraft, while also stating Michael Rensing should never have been sold.

After Neuer's arrival at FCB, Kraft opted to join Hertha Berlin, while Rensing currently plays for Koln after leaving the Allianz Arena in 2010.

"Bayern have made a mistake in the past. I would never have let go of Rensing and Kraft. They could have prepared both of them for the spot between the sticks before Neuer's arrival," Maier said to Goal.com.

"I would not have signed Neuer, but Bayern always want the best players, and he is a world-class goalkeeper.

"However, I know Michael and Thomas, and they would both have made it at Bayern as well. It's clear though that Neuer is on another level."

The 1974 World Cup winner then went on to discuss the position of Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes, who has come under fire following the Bavarians' disappointing performances after the winter break.

"It's madness that people are discussing firing him. He's doing a good job and is a nice guy, something you can't say of all the previous Bayern coaches. He has a good relationship with the team as well."

Maier also took the time to talk about Germany's chances at Euro 2012, and the legendary shot-stopper believes that the national side have what it takes to go all the way if they survive the group stages.

"They have a good chance to become European champions if they get through the group stages. Germany have been drawn in what is by far the strongest group."

The 68-year-old is not surprised with Germany's success under head coach Joachim Low, and is full of praise for the former assistant.

"I was there when Jurgen Klinsmann was in charge, but Low was doing all the work already back then. I knew that things would go like this when Klinsmann left. You could already see that Low would continue the great work."

Germany start Euro 2012 with a match against Portugal on June 9, and will also have to deal with Netherlands and Denmark in Group B.

Come on Sepp... Neuer is clearly a cut above Kraft and Rensing! We had no other choice!!!

Well I agree with most of what he said. Neuer is a class above them but Kraft would have made it, I believe. I agree on the other points too.

You can see where he's coming from. Take note how he agrees that Neuer is the best of the lot, though. Looks like he doesn't like the huge price Bayern played while shunning the local boys rather than any performance related issues.

Exactly. And of course Rensing and Kraft were two GKs under his care.

They had their chances...Rensing had a lot of time to prove his worth.

he didnt take it...and that is it.

Bayern is too big and there are a lot of expectations...there is no room for experimenting for 10 years.
GK position is one of the most important positions...as for direct and indirect defending...defenders defend better when they are confident they have a top class GK behind them.

Unfortunately for future GKs at under young Bayern teams, it's something what every of them must have on own mind. I think the only exeption would be something like GK talent as Casillas if he rises to the surface someday. Then we can our home-boy put in action and get the same stuff as Real 10 years ago.

But I don't belive in that scenario. :)
