That is great. Raeder always looked good when I've seen him play and in a worst case scenario, I don't think I'd mind seeing him in the goalposts that much. Obviously he's no Neuer and he's not as experienced as Starke, but it wouldn't be that big of a step down from Starke I think.

Tough game to come on to but he did pretty well for it being his first Bundesliga start, especially since he is quite young for a goalkeeper

He conceded three shots, two of them went in, and the Aubameyang would have been saved by any GK. I wouldn't call that "pretty well" :|

Well he conceded a terrible goal just 5 minutes after coming on. I think it was sterndessudens who said that that was more ball watching than goalkeeping.

Firefox is right that it was a hard game to make his debut. I think he is a good goalkeeper, he's always played well in friendlies, but that goal really ruined it for him. He did make a nice save later on though.

He is not the kind of guy who I would want in goal in the CL, but against weaker Bundesliga teams, why not?

Let's not forget it was his debut. And against Dortmund. Probably nerves got to him.

Against Dortmund when we were already losing by 1 goal. I wouldn't read much into it.

Agree with what MUTU said. It was a big match.

Remember when I said in the chat (after Hoffmann's goal) "gosh this is gonna get worse, isn't it..."

Partly right with Rafinha getting send off and Mandzu's goal being ruled offside when it's not... But what I kinda meant is that I expected Raeder to concede more... And he didn't.

It was a "baptism under fire" for a debut to be fair. And conceding *only* 2 goals in his first ever Bundesliga match with a CB Javi (against Dortmund to boot too) is probably not as bad as it sounds lol, more seasoned goalies have fallen prey to more. He did make one save or something? :P

Thought he was looking a little more confident today, though he still didn't have too much to do. Nice seeing him come out a little more as though he's tentatively trying to be more like Neuer's style :P
