Ummmm... When we signed him, I went to the Juve forums to investigate and the most common complaint about Coman was that he was poor with his back against the goal. He will most likely take a few seasons to begin to realize his potential. I'm not excited about what he can do now, but rather about seeing indications of the player he can become.

I think he can still be very good addition for us right away... This is one of the situations where I'm really excited about what Guardiola can do with him... So I hope rumors about him wanting this player are true... It'S the same with Costa in a way... He was never spectacular, sure, there was some talent, but WAY below what we have now... Now with Costa I think it's many facts that made him explode... Coman already played for a big club, albeit in a wrong position... So I think Guardiola might be an important factor in his development... Also, many Frenchmen think he'S insanely talented, some of those already played for us and were not too bad either... So, let's see...

He will be presented at today's press conference in about 2 hours...

So... Actually quite sympathetic... His interpreter was rattling all the time so I didn't get it all but I think he has a daughter? Also, he's confident, ready to play right away and Sammer said that they knew all that, that they think he improved gradually, and that he doesn't want the guy to be overwhelmed by expectation - nor people to forget about Ribéry - but that he's confident he'll help right away, and I quote: "Should the coach decide to play him, he'll EXPLODE"...

Sooo... Please Mr. Pep: PLAY HIM! ;)

He showed glimpses of brilliance but was clearly, and understandably, shy. Give it a bit more time and a couple more of our half-pitch 6-a-side games in training and I'm confident he'll be a star.

Much like Costa he showed he can beat defenders one on one, I really liked his movement.
Also he looks like a big guy (kinda reminds me of Pogba in that sense), so I really don't think the physicality of BuLI will be a problem for him either.

Hopefully he'll get plenty of chances.

I watched him and Anthony Martial's debut on the same day. The latter impressed me more. I hope Coman will become big soon and also that he would smile a bit more. I always get the feeling like he was forced to be in Bayern.

True his face is always :( as if he had no means to keep up till the end of the month!
I saw Martial vs Valencia on both legs and I can say that he showed promice of the next big thing... But 80£ is waaaaay toooo much...

It's too early to even mention Ribery's name along this kid's. let's see what he's got first. Nothing impressive as a first debut, but definitely has potential.

good to hear!
Not to mention that he is 19 yrs old. dealing with a lot of change ATM, new language, new home, new friends, and so on. Give him time and I am sure he will be awesome!
do you think that pep will use him a lot as a sub?

I'm really impressed that Pep has enough belief in him to take out Vidal with over 30 minutes left in a game we were losing 1-0 and replace him with Coman. I believe he is going to get plenty of play time here over two years and hopefully develop into a world class replacement for Ribery.

Putting in Coman isn't exactly a like-for-like sub now is it? He obviously thought Coman brought something the rest of the bench didn't. He could have put in Kimmich as a natural midfielder or tested out Martinez which would've been ill-advised, but instead he opted for a guy who is 19 years old played few minutes and at other clubs and has only trained with the team 2 or 3 times... To try and act like Pep didn't see something in Coman at some point would be a reach. If Coman joined any other team and had this little training time with the team he would never have touched the field unless the coach truly believed in him.
