how is it a pointless loan?

they're spending 7 million euros over 2 years to try to develop a winger who has a ton of talent

if he lives up to his potential, 20 million euros could end up being a steal...... if not, they paid butt wipe money to take a 2 year chance on a really talented kid at a position of need

the loan makes perfect sense to make and is a great deal..... I think its a bad move by Juventus to be honest

Uh, hello May of 2015? Feel like going to another end of the season having to move Götze to the wing?
Now we are up to 4 wingers, which is the OPTIMAL number a team should have.

How so? Ribéry is not fit to play in 2015 - at least... I think in light of this they decided to go for him and I don't think they would have otherwise... So we have a replacement for Ribéry/Robben and we have Costa... Makes perfect sense to me... He will definitely play more than 450 minutes here... ;)
Someone, fire that Italian **** already! I don't care who, I don't care how much it costs or who'll be the next coach - just make sure he's gone and he stays gone!!!

I don't get people who think we shouldn't get a replacement because we have Ribery. Even *if* he returns to a decent form (or even plays at all...), he'd still be 32/33 and his time is counted. This is probably his last season with us.

I must confess I am lagging behind on information about this guy. Some reports call him a striker and some call him a winger. Which is he really?

He's a natural winger and from YouTube clips he always looks to play the ball wide

Leftwinger as far as I can tell, but shoehorned into the striker role by Juve's wingerless tactics

He can pretty much be whatever the coach makes him play best at... Schweinsteiger started as a "winger", remember? ;)

Maybe Guardiola can fit him in well... There has to be a point in us fighting so hard to get him...

To put things in perspective, when Ribéry was 19, he was playing in the french 3rd division, while Coman played the CL final at the same age.
His precocity is not a guarantee of success, but Coman has all the attributes to become a great player in my opinion.

Ribery was an outlier, very late bloomer. But yes, Coman seems hugely promising.

Could someone explain the concept to me- because I'm struggling.
What do Juve possibly gain out of giving Bayern Coman for 2 years for the paltry sum of 5m?
Either he turns into a brilliant player, and the 20m for him is good value, or he fails and it was a cheap 5m experiment who won't stay in the team still taking wages.
Great for us.
Bu why on earth would Juve agree to such a thing?

Worst case scenario: Just another "meh" loan with an insignificant cash loss compared to Bayern's budget.

Best case scenario: A god damn fit Ribery replacement.

For Juve he was acquired on a free transfer from PSG so to them they make a 7m profit from the loan fee and worst case scenario if Bayern don't like him he goes back to them with two years more experience or they get the 21m from Bayern to complete the purchase. According to Allegri Coman wanted to leave since he didn't see himself getting playing time.
