Yeah! About him being exactly the player they all (including Ancelotti) wanted, since he's a player further strengthening the squad...

Bayern Munich chief questions role of international football [source]

Bayern Munich CEO and European Club Association chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has questioned the role of international football in modern football after the Bundesliga champions extended their winless run to three games with an "unacceptable" performance against Frankfurt.

Bayern twice let the lead slip against 10-man Frankfurt and eventually claimed a 2-2 draw, but had to do without Robert Lewandowski from the start and Arturo Vidal altogether after the pair returned from international duty with knocks.

Arturo Vidal and Robert Lewandowski, returned with knocks from international duty with their respective countries.

"That's a problem we are gradually getting with national teams," Rummenigge said. "Players come back and aren't fit like [Arturo] Vidal at the moment, but also other players in the past.

"We have to slowly consider the role that international football plays in world football."

Spain internationals Javi Martinez and Juan Bernat, as well as wingers Franck Ribery and Douglas Costa also missed the game through injury, but Rummenigge felt Bayern's star-studded squad should have been able to cope despite the mounting number of absentees.

"Of course we had many players missing, again we've got five or six injured players, but we are blessed with such a deep and top quality squad that we shouldn't need to make excuses," he said.

This is Bayern's worst run of results since the end of the 2014-15 season. Already crowned Bundesliga champions, they suffered losses against Leverkusen, Augsburg and Freiburg, and were knocked out on penalties versus Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal, before also slipping to a crushing 3-0 defeat in the Champions League semifinal first leg in Barcelona.

all international games should be played exactly after the end of the season.

The low ranked teams such as Malta San Marino Andorra Kosovo Gibraltar Faeroe Isl Luxembourg Lichtenstein Moldova Macedonia Kazakhstan and maybe the ones exactly above them should play against each other first. This will save like 4 games to the bigger teams.

Paying 20.5 m euros net wage to almost 32 years old Ronaldo whos regressing is crazy. They renewed with him until 2021 as well.

It's crazy when you look at it solely from a sporting aspect, but not so wacky when you factor in the marketing. If Real Madrid don't offer that wage to Ronaldo, some other club would, and he'd be sold/move on a free... end result would be that from a marketing aspect, it would be a major blow to Real Madrid.

-he is almost 32 years old and regressing.
-offering him that high wage will result in increasing their team salary level.
-he will be Real's cancer, he will always start.
-His current deal was expiring in 2019 or so.
-He wants to play until he is 41.

l like Lahm's mentality there. if you are not enough for highest level, you had better to retire. l'm an economist and very interested in marketing. Real won't get much from Ronaldo on marketing after he is 33-34. so They should have finished his previous deal and should have said goodbye to Ronaldo. They have to live without Ronaldo.now they will start him until he retires at 41 years old?

The higher wages across the board are not due to Ronaldo. They are an anti-EPL measure, meant to protect their players from indecent proposals from the English. Kroos and Bale signed their extensions first. I haven't looked at the figures involved, but it may even be just a case of Madrid managing Ronaldo's jealousy. Madrid, just like we did with our 2021 extensions, is implementing complete effort to protect their squad from the EPL temptation.

Cronaldo is the most famous and recognisable footballer in the world and he's scoring like +50 goals every season, so it's a no brainer really.
