I see what you mean now. I agree with you. The lack of backup striker is very worrying.

Bayern's Jupp Heynckes advises Julian Nagelsmann to stay at Hoffenheim
Bayern Munich interim coach Jupp Heynckes has advised Julian Nagelsmann "to stay at Hoffenheim for a few more years" but suggested it is inevitable the 30-year-old will coach Bayern Munich in the future.

Heynckes returned to Bayern as coach until the end of the season following the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti, but Nagelsmann has been strongly linked with the permanent job in Munich, where his family is based, and he was photographed in the city earlier this month.

Nagelsmann, the Bundesliga's youngest-ever coach, took charge of Hoffenheim's senior side at age 28 near the end of the 2015-16 season after having impressed in various coaching roles at the club since 2008.

But Heynckes, 72, suggested the younger man would need a little more time before taking on as large a challenge as Bayern.

"Perhaps it would be good to stay at Hoffenheim for a few more years and gain some experience in Europe," Heynckes told Rhein Neckar Zeitung.

"You can still make mistakes at a smaller club. One day he will end up at Bayern Munich anyway."

Nagelsmann is under contract until 2021 with Hoffenheim.

Jupp Heynckes’s new locker room rules | Bavarianfootballworks

Getting really angry with Carlo now. Looks like things have totally gone to rack under him.

You can say what you want about Pep, but he didn't neglect order and discipline.

I still don't get why they didn't pull the rip cord in summer. Did it all start to really go downhill after Lahm retired? I always thought that it wouldn't be so easy to replace him. Or was it the lack of a sporting director?

Boateng said on TV yesterday that they lacked the fitness to play full power after 60 minutes.

Anyway, I'm glad this is being set right now, although I'm still worried about Jupp's opinion that nutritionists and mental trainers aren't needed. But it's 100 times better than what Ancelotti did (or failed to do). This couldn't only have Bayern cost the season, but also Germany the World Cup.

What scares me a bit about Jupp is that he might be too dependent on what worked in the past, but different players may need different things - such as a nutritionist.

Yes, that is simply behind the times. "You have to use your head"... sorry, but it doesn't work like that. A nutritionist does more than just make sure they prepare healthy food. For instance, players might have food allergies they don't even know about because they aren't strong enough to cause obvious symptoms but still drag their performance levels down.

I also fear that the likes of Süle and Tolisso won't get much playtime.

I really hope they bring either a coach or a sporting director in in summer who takes care of these things. BTW, Jupp has advised Nagelsmann to stay in Hoffenheim for a couple more years.

Why hasn't a statue of him been made outside of the Allianz Arena yet?

Oh the pity that it was portrayed from Bayern's end as a treble/triple. It was actually a quadruple because the DFL-Supercup is a competitive match.

So yes, we can win the quadruple again. Doesn't it sound better than treble?
