The main reason I want him to succeed with us, is to show that show pony Mario Gotze (and a chunk of German Media) that patience and determination can pay off at Bayern.
She’s beauty, she’s grace, if u tell her she only watches football for the attractive players she’ll punch u in the face.

Interesting thought and I'd love him to succeed, but do they really pay off? Kimmich has shown that it's the player's elite mental state that counts.

Didn't realize he is the first American to score for Bayern Munich, I hope to see him improve here...

So far he's played in 2 Champions League matches and 2 DFB Pokal matches for Bayern. He has never played a single Bundesliga minute for Bayern (he played 5 BL matches while on loan at HSV). Yesterday was his second start for Bayern. His official debut was on 27th November 2013, so it will soon be his 3rd anniversary.

If he scores again, I move for a vote to make MUTU put up this as his avatar.

I really have high hopes on this dude. He deserves more playing time than Coman. OK one can argue that they do not play the same position but still.

Based on what, the 3 mins he played against CSKA Moscow on 27th Nov 2013, the 62 minutes he played against Dinamo Zagreb on 9th December 2015, the 25 minutes he played against Carl Zeiss Jena or the 89 minutes he played against Augsburg?

That's a total of 179 minutes, 1 minute less than 2 full matches. Is two matches worth of playing time spread over 3 years enough to convince you that a player deserves more playing time than the younger player who placed 2nd and 3rd in the last 2 years of the Golden Boy award?

Now, I don't mean to hit on Green. On the contrary, I'm a big fan of his story and would really like him to succeed (also think of the great marketing opportunities to the US) but we've simply not seen enough of the player to formulate an opinion like this. He's now had SIX club coaches in his professional career so far, who watch him train on a daily basis, far more than any of us watched him play, and neither of these three coaches felt he deserved more playing time because otherwise they'd have given him that. During almost a whole season on loan at Hamburg, he had FOUR head coaches (Slomka, Zinnbauer, Knäbel and Labbadia) and rather than giving him the playing time that was expected Hamburg relegated him to the reserves and all hell broke loose.

So how, with having watched him play for no longer than 179 minutes for Bayern, can one conclude he deserves to play more than Coman? The same Coman that a few of us were (jokingly) asking for an instant Ballon d'Or on the forum, less than a year ago. OK, Coman is in a patch of bad form, but we've seen what he can do. You can't say the same thing about Green.

If he made it, he'd come cheaper than Coman... if Green is not given the chance here and makes it elsewhere? We'd be doing the same mistake as PSG with Coman.

Are we seriously comparing Green with Coman? Green hasn't impressed in any of his appearances with us. He didn't manage it on the loans either...

Coman was terrific last season. Already forgotten the hattrick of assists, or the goal against Juve or the gorgeous robbenesque goal he scored for france? Come on dude, there is no comparison. Green has shown pretty much zero indications of a future WC level.

Coman had it hard to show it at PSG as well because he wasn't playing. We have to see Green more to judge him properly...
After he starts a couple more games we'll know him better...
