I think we should lock this thread since its a little to early for him to have a player thread of his own. He hasnt even featured in a competitive fixture or signed a professional contract. Im not saying he isnt talented but i dont want to jinx anything by jumping the gun....

'Very good, Julian' Green heard from Guardiola after one of his very first training sessions at the Allianz Arena. This is a very nice article with an interview with Julian Green where he talks about his upbringing, his background, and his not-so-sure decision as to which NT he will pledge his allegiance to: “I have no preferences at the moment”

I was reading some articles on transfermarkt and looked at Julian Green's profile to find that he has scored 11 goals in 12 games so far this season. Bayern II top-scorer and he was subbed on 5 times. Considering it's his first season for the team and he is only 18 that's very good

There are reports that Jurgen Klinnsman is going to call up Green for the US mens national team.

Actually the report I read from Bild is that he HAS called up Green for the US friendlies against Scotland and Austria. From a selfish point of view, I'd rather he doesn't accept the offer because if he's promising and will eventually break into Bayern's first team I'd rather that he doesn't have to travel to a different continent every time during international breaks.

Bild also suggests Green has indeed accepted Klinsi's invite looking forward a US NT career.

Doesn't Pizarro do that though?

Pizarro is very unlikely to become a first team player in future. Sure, we can also mention Dante who has to travel a lot as well. In our history we have had international players outside of the continent, but it has often been tricky as regards to fitness. Sometimes players missed matches because they arrived late and tired.

If Green does make it at Bayern Munich is it possible he becomes the first American at Bayern Munich?

TZ picked up on this news. They also say that Klinsmann wants Green to play in the World Cup already this summer. Such an offer is interesting to the kid who so far has only started one match for Germany U19 (and subbed in in 4 other matches). He will now play for USA in the two friendlies, however he would still be eligible to play for Germany unless Green plays a competitive match. USA's next competitive match is in the World Cup. [source]
