I trust him more than I do Rafinha on the other side. Unfortunately for him, Alaba is probably even better than Lahm at this point as a full back, so the difference between the two is very stark simply to how good Alaba is.

What if Bernat can be transformed into a RB?

Inverted RB/LB? I don't think that would work well...

Would be nice if he cut on his left foot and hit his powerful shots

May be powerful, but wildly ineffective as well.

I don't think Juan is fast enough to deliver what Bayern fans are used to on the left side of the field. I mean, over the last 3-5 years, Ribéry, then Alaba, and now Costa have been there. All 3 are very, very quick players, and all 3 are either left footed or (in Franck's case) very good with both feet, wanting to get to the byline. Tough standard to live up to.

Perhaps the right would work for him; his countryman Azpilicueta has done very well switching form RB to LB and it would open a place for him in the future considering that our game seems to be best when Alaba is at LB.

I'm sorry, but Bernat isn't even remotely as reliable as Rafinha has been in the last 2 seasons...

Bernat is pretty fast. He's definitely fast enough, he's not smart enough though.

A left footed defender playing on the right can be vey effective defending against a right footed attacking midfielder coming from the left side of the opposing team.

What if the right footed attacking midfielder coming from the left side of the opposing team was overlapped by a left footed fullback coming not necessarily from the right side?

You are right as well... I said that cause the defender will be tacking with his strong left... although I expect the defender to be able to defend the attacker with both legs. And also his objective is always to keep away the attacker from cutting through thus keeping him as wide as possible close to the line...
I used to play as full back - mainly as RB (I play with both feet though)

He's not playing well long before this match, since that Camp Nou defeat basically.

I think ever since he arrived he had ups and downs... He's not stable... Happens with young players... I don't think it'*s anything to worry about yet - as long as he makes the right observations and evaluations of his performances...
