Verratti can play as a 6 but not in a two man midfield but most likely in three man midfield as a deep lying playmaker like Xabi but regardless I don't see him coming to Bayern anytime soon. At the moment I'm content with Kimmich proving his worth so Bayern won't have to break the bank getting Verratti.

As the lone #6 in our current system he would fail miserably ...

But like you said, I don't see us going for him. Besides, we are pretty stacked in midfield

I can categorically tell you and I am ready to bet my house on it..Veratti will not be coming to Bayern anytime soon.

Also Kimmich is better than weigl as far as I think..Weigl is getting time in the starting XI coz its BVB..Kimmich isn't getting that much time coz its bayern.Ability and attitude wise Kimmich is more complete.

I don't know about that, Weigl seems very polished technically. He probably needs to get a bit stronger for some of those midfield battles, but he really knows what to do with the ball.

The thing I find weird is that people say verrati isn't a dm and cannot play the alonso role, but we had kroos playing there, bastian playing there, even thiago played there and now alonso who cannot run.

Verrrati should be our number 1 target next summer along with gundogan.

I think he is quiet hyped. Without Motta and Matuidi, tbh I dont know if he is so good. :?

There are no guarantees we can get Verratti. He is playing for a club that probably pays even more than we do.

I have seen him many times, he plays exactly the Alonso/Pirlo role, and he has got a mean tackle in him as well. Too mean at times, he is quite prone to get yellow carded. The thing about Verratti though is that at times his decision making is not as good as Gundogan or even Thiago. He takes way too many risks. His technique on the ball is immaculate, but he seems like he always picks the hardest option out there.

I don’t know why we’re looking for further defensive/central midfielders at the moment. The rotating Alonso/Kimmich solution offers delightful potential. Alonso has a lot to offer if he’s not overplayed, and Kimmich looks like the future of Bayern’s midfield, but he needs to grow into it gradually, rather than be dumped into it for 90 min every match. One will phase out as the other phases in, during the season. Then we have Vidal and Rode, who can play there, even if each seems to prefer going forward. And we have Hojbjerg on loan, and Gaudino, who is very skilful, beefing up. No, let’s wait and see.

I deliberately exclude Martinez and Alaba from the list. Martinez has returned very convincingly, as a central defender, and I think his Bayern future lies there. Indeed, I’m more at ease about Bayern’s defence, now he’s returned. Alaba is a reasonably good midfielder, but by no means as effective as a midfielder as he is as a defender who goes forward.

We were playing differently then... Kroos is sure as hell not playing what Alonso is playing now...
Also, get it out of your system: we will never see Veratti play in Munich! Accept it!

@ Badger: we don'T need one now, but I think it's good to keep our eyes open for a backup for Kimmich... Alonso is not gonna play there forever, and also his contract expires next year... Lastly, he's awfully expensive... ;)
Number one priority should be a great RB (prospect) though...

Martinez can play DM and rock there... so I don't see a rush in signing a DM.

Jesus Christ Verratti is the father of all off topics! Who brought him up? WHO?

Just imagine, Vidal deep, Thiago dropping bombs from behind, Verratti sweeping every motherf*cker from Diesel Land to the Camp Nou.

Not in Pep's team (apart from perhaps 1 match).

I rather develop Kimmich than going for Verratti

This Verratti obsession is kinda dumb. Hazzard would be easier to get (especially with the mess Mourinho has in Chelsea right now).
