Jérôme Boateng

Postby raz25 » Wed Aug 17, 2011 8:05 pm

Boateng's transfer value has just decreased from 15 million to 13.5 million after transferring. What is the sense in that?

I didn't express myself correctly. I meant his value on transfermarkt.de

It has to do with The Fact that he transferred to bayern for an amount less than his market Value

and also him not playing in his last days at Manchester City

In my personal opinion Jérôme Boateng is worth every penny we paid for him. His acceleration and speed are frightening (remember Micho & van Buyten?), the timing of his tackles and the way he solves crucial situations is superb. Furthermore he has the body of a Premiere League player, is solid in the air and good on the ball (for a CB). Everything he needs to be a top defender is experience and health.

Bayern Heynckes told LIGA total! that Boateng lacks consistency, hence JB's exclusion vs Leverkusen.

Can't say I agree, maybe he sees something in training we don't. Then again I have full faith that Jupp is good enough in man management to know what he's doing.

That's not quite true what this source states! What Heynckes truly said was that Boateng wasn't used to play two full games a week when he arrived at Bayern and still isn't yet. Therefore he needs to adjust to this situation step by step which is why Heynckes decided to give him a break and let Van Buyten start.

I would expect this more to be along the lines of what Heynckes said.
Jerome has been excellent in every game he has played.
So for anyone to say he lacks consistency, let alone our coach, would be unwise and we all know Heynckes is the wisest of them all.

Yeah, that would make a whole lot more sense. He's back from a really long injury, after all.

I would expect that if it was coming out of LvG... but nontheless I'm left worried that Heynckes might choose DvB over Boateng when we play Shitty  ....

In Fact

I think that He Started DVB (who just came back from injury) vs Leverkusen

so that Jerome Boateng plays vs City

He has usually played Van Buyten when we've played against teams with strong and tall forwards.
City has Dzeko, so Van Buyten playing wouldn't be surprising.
Although, DvB coping with the Short'n'pacy tridente of Aguero, Silva and Nasri sounds horrifying, nay, blasphemious!
