Congratulations on the birth of your son, Jérôme! :)

Who is the mother? Didn't he break up badly with a girlfriend very recently, a case that made the front pages of newspapers and the courts?

Edit: he won custody in the courts in April 2015. Exactly 9 months later he becomes a father again?

Apparently he and the girlfriend Sherin Senler (the mother of his twin daughters) are back together. The mother of his son is someone Boateng dated when he and Senler were separated.

So let me understand this.

He broke up with his (ugly) girlfriend Senler. She accused him of beating her up and had him splashed all across the newspapers for all the wrong reasons. Things went to court, while he found another girl and immediately impregnated her. Then, after he won the legal battle for custody of his daughters, he got back together with his ex anyway, while he was expecting from the second girl.

Sounds like something from a TV show.

About the whole story: this is Boateng... Great player, but not the brightest light bulb in the hardware store... ;)

No, they're not becoming crazy. This is the standard set by FIFA and has been this way for a while, at very least since 2007.

They're simply obeying FIFA Disciplinary Code 38 point 2g:

FIFA Disciplinary Code 38 wrote:2. Match suspensions in relation to an expulsion pronounced on a player outside of a competition (separate match[es]) or not served during the competition for which they were intended (elimination or the last match in the competition) are carried over as follows:

g) friendly matches: carried over to the representative team’s next friendly match

so what was last year's incident then... when we had a debate about it? wasn't something similar?

If we're talking about the same thing it was about Benatia getting suspended for the German Cup after seeing red in Roma's last Coppa Italia match the previous season. I didn't find any rules pertaining to that, but obviously they could (and probably) exist.

I'm not sure if it is the same topic but some suspensions are carried over all competitions or leagues. Suárez Jaws II impersonation at the WC for example rendered him banned for a good eternity while switching from England to Catalunya.
