The big targets I believe Guardiola and Sammer target together. Vidal is not exactly a Guardiola pick, he's been on the Bayern radar for years. Douglas Costa another example Guardiola may have picked but the club went out and got. Martinez, Thiago, etc. Sammer made those things happen. He is doing well the job he was paid to do.

Rode, Kirchhof and Kurt grew on Sammer's dung as we say in germany. "Projects", fantastic. Waste of money/wages. Rode a decent cover against Darmstadt & Ingolstadt. Gaudino could've done the same job.
Vidal was most likely targeted by Reschke, former board member of his old club and the guy who brought him to germany in the first place. Costa was Pep's pick and his work. Just look at Costa's recent interview. Martínez and Thiago were wishes from our last 2 coaches. If you think Sammer made all those things happen I don't know why you always read of Reschke & Rummenigge doing the negotiations.
The cost to the club is irelevant. What's left is that "Sammer's" transfers didn't really help us at all.

I don't know what Sammer is doing at the club, only thing I know he is heavily involved in the build-up of our new youth centre (source: Doppelpass) but "his" transfers were failures.

Lewandowski was his transfer..

What bastos says makes sense, and that's why I believe the coach should always have the first say in transfers. Regardless of that, however, we've had many successful transfers in recent years. It doesn't matter to me who's behind them as long as there's someone (or a group of people) at the club to make sure we can get most of our targets.

I disagree. We can't know exactly how bayern work in the process of signing players, but despite we have a sport manager (Sammer), of course that Pep, Rummenige and the rest of the board should also participate in the transfers decisions, because there are money issues to analyze, and the board is responsable in the economy management of the club and Pep in the sport desicions.

But since we have Sammer, Bayern has been more active in the summer transfers period than others times, just look how much the starting lineup has change in the last 3 years, so for me Sammer is doing a good job, but of course he can progress.

Also no one here know the limitations that Sammer has in Bayern, despite he is in one of the best football team in the world.
Super-Bayern! Super-Bayern! Hey! Hey!

I wished Bayern gave him another chance, but I guess they know better seeing him train every day. Good luck, Jan!

That's good for everyone involved. I wish him all the best. I have a feeling he'll fit in nice with them.

Lets see if we get some of the transfer rights
