Many experts in Germany are saying that this should be the year of Bayern, since they are playing with the greatest coach of all time for them and also - the team is individually, and if you look at the names inside the squad - probably the best Bayern squad ever.

So, it's looking like Jupp is giving them huge confidence.

This might be Bayerns year, but I don't see how the team is individually or as a squad the best Bayern ever. In fact, I rate them worse in most positions. Here's my comparison with the 2013 team:

Ulrich - Neuer: way worse
Kimmich - Lahm: way worse
Boateng: same or worse
Hummels - Dante: better
Alaba: worse
Martinez: worse
Vidal - Schweini: worse
Ribery: way worse
James - Müller: same
Robben: way worse
Lewa - Mandzu: way better

Heynckes on James: "His standing in the team has grown. When I first came, he was isolated and there was little communication. He needed direction and speech. Now, he is showing his huge footballing potential again. He does things intuitively that others can't do"

Bayern Munich bringing the very best out of Colombia's James Rodriguez [source]

"What the not-so-good moments gave me at Real Madrid, I think they helped me grow," he explained. "With time you learn to be calmer. I always want to be good, but with the time you also learn to be calm." 8)

James Rodriguez: I'm getting better with every game.

Salihamidzic on James: He feels really well. He is now taking German lessons. This is also important for him, he needs it for his game.

Brazzo: We have time to pull the buy-option for James and we are very relaxed.

An incredible player. I can't believe that there was some doubts about his game after the transfer. Easily he is a top 3 at his position when he is healthy.

When he joined people said fodder..substitute for lucas vazquez..attitude problems..slow.."new toy".

I was lobbying for his transfer from day 1 (just like I did with Coman) and those people are nowhere to be seen now..

Not to tale away anything from him, but he has yet to probe he can be as shiny and decisive in CL as in minor BuLi clashes...
