Pretty much saw everything I already new about James, polished on the ball, great vision, and executes crisp passes. I'm sure once he gets comfortable with the team we will see more....

Might I add: I REALLY don't understand the notion that James is too slow to play as a winger for us. Watching him today his on-the-ball pace was just about as quick as anybody we've got...

He was good with his passing today. That's a very important attribute to have if you wanna play at Bayern. Let's hope we can somehow accommodate both him and Müller in the playing eleven.

I think with Robben on the way out, Müller and James with be sharing the wing and 10 slot, moving around a lot. With Coman playing as well as he is I would like to see the 4231 continued with Coman Müller and James behind Lewy

I, too, think that Muller will benefit from a real 10 like James... if Muller is playing wide. I think that the team will benefit from the addition of James and Alonso's retirement but let's wait and see.

His passing and skills were top notch, he will be improve our attack. He is one of the best signings that we could have made this season.

By the way, he did say in a interview to pronounce his name as in spanish instead of english. This is an opinion article that speaks about it (is in spanish):

http://www.elperiodico.com/es/noticias/deportes/llames-yeims-3401025

Also, you can listen to this video that is set at 8 minutes and 26 seconds because is when he is going to shoot the penalty, his name is said in spanish pronunciation multiple times before, during and after he takes the penalty kick. Link below (I did not use the coding as it was not playing at the sett minute in the preview):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTWIB7p ... be&t=8m26s

Finally, the last suggestion I have is how the words "ha mess" sounds in english when said together, it is the closest pronunciation I could think off that assembles the most the spanish pronunciation, however the "s" sound is too long in "mess" it should be shorter like in the video. This is a url to google translate with the phrase "ha mess":

https://translate.google.com/#auto/en/ha%20mess

Additional note: I am native spanish speaker and I also am a lawyer. So I do know my native language quite well, as I have to employ a lot of rhetoric while speaking in the court and when I write down legal documents.

I agree with you on this. James is in some ways a very similar player to Ozil, and the Ozil-Muller partnership has served as the basis for the very strong offense of the German National Team for many years now. Having a player like James who distributes the ball well and who drifts out into the flanks, leaving space in the center for Muller to drift into, would be a godsend Muller playing on the right(or left for that matter).

However, for good or ill, I don''t think Ancelotti will experiment with this after he got burned so badly by playing Muller on the right in the wrong tactical setup last season. Moreover, Muller playing as secondary striker will help keep Lewandowski happy.

Muller under Heynckes and Low was more than decent as an old school wide player, he can't give us much wide like Robben does but he can play pretty decent as inside forward with his crosses and tactical cuts without the ball leaving an opening to our RB to have a shot on the goal or the perfect cross/assist. Muller can make space for everyone involved just by being there or play a 1-2 through ball. Thing is that he is quite useless when we play with inverted wingers and call him to do the same thing, it's not his style and he doesn't possess the right skill set for that role.

In the right formation with the right tactical adjustments James,Lewy and Muller can co-exist and work at perfection, I'm sure but you just can't ask Muller to do Robben's work they are so different, from mindset to skills, completely different but they can produce the same miracles with a different approach.

I'm not sure on Müller playing wide. If Carlo saw Müller out wide he would have played him there yesterday with James in the middle I think.
But it was the other way around and it worked very well.
He will profit from him one way or another.

Since Lewa joined Muller has played best slightly behind him (but not quite a #10). It will either be James on the wing or both centrally in a 4-3-2-1

Will be interesting how we play. I think we will see a 4231 in most Bundesliga games.
I think this would be great to set-up as our formation for big-games:

-------- Lewandowski
----------------- Müller --- James
------- Thiago
------------- Vidal -- Tolisso
Alaba - Hummels - Boateng - Kimmich

Only ignorant english speaking idiots pronounce it Hames.

It's actually pronounced Hames (with an English H)

I have no idea what an english h is, but it's definatly not pronounced the same way as any english words with an H at the beginning[/quote]Hi maze...
