Well it's done with now. No use crying over spilled milk. Now currently injured players need to be taken to new doctors who will have to pick up on the details and then continue treatment. This possibly means a setback for current injuries and our hopes of recovering some players against Porto will possibly take a dent. I am assuming Bayern will rope someone in temporarily until they can get a permanent medical department. Or will HWMW still work on the injured players and eventually hand them off to the new medical team?

I read some rumours about Bayern's basketball team doctor taking over.

I wonder if the Munich fan groups will take a common position about this and on whose side they will be ?

Are we starting to feel the absence of the conductor ? Uli we miss you !

I would assume that he would still treat them in a private capacity, and not as the official club doctor, at the very least until Bayern get things up and running again. If I remember correctly the same had happened during the Klinsmann era.

It's not just Wohlfahrt retiring, it's his entire staff retiring, four doctors including the entire medical personnel!

They were recognized as one of the best medical teams in the world and now all of a sudden since Guardiola arrived they've all gone shit?

This must be horrible for the players. I don't like the implications of that Bild article at all. I only hope Bayern doesn't become one of those clubs now where players are made fit with injections no matter the consequences.

I think so too.

I'm curious who Bayern will look for as a replacement. Certainly they'll go for someone among the very best.

"Welt" reports now that the physios are threatening to resign, too.

Bayerns Physiotherapeuten drohen mit Rücktritt | Welt [source]

There will be a declaration by Guardiola on 12:00 CET according to the article.

Guys, I've written off the Porto game. That's a veritable earthquake. Such a breach of such important relationships, how can they handle that within days in that situation.

He's still the German team doctor. So, players still can go to him for treatment.

The thing I fear for is that the management has put Pep on a pedestal and I think they are too much in awe of him to even think of opposing him, let alone fire him. Probably the way I idolize few players. Only issue, while I can do it, they being in such positions should not.

Wohlfahrt has done so much for the team and has been with us for so long. You don't disrespect such a guy for a CL loss when you still had fully fit 14 first class players on the pitch. He was right about Thiago's injury and Pep's rushing him in cost the guy his WC chance.

Say what you will, think what you will, I stand behind Wohlfahrt 100%. :|
Even if it costs us Pep. His 2 years is nothing compared to Wohlfahrt's service.

I don't know what to say but at the heat of it I'd say that Guardiola shall be fired for lack of Professionalism especially in delicate times like these...
