I believe he got a call-up for the Germany U19 team (as did Kurt). Anyone know if and how he played?

(Added later from FCN News thread:)
Gaudino makes Germany U-19 debut

Gianluca Gaudino has made his first appearance for Germany at U-19 level. The FCB youngster came on as a half-time sub in his team’s 2-0 defeat to Spain on Thursday afternoon at the start of an invitation tournament in Greece. The other two FCB youths in the Germany squad also featured in the contest at Katerini Municipal Stadium: Sinan Kurt played 80 minutes and Marco Hingerl the full 90. Spain’s goals were scored by Marco Asensio Willemsen (53) and Adrian Marin Gomez (56), with the north Europeans finishing a man down following Timo Werner’s 81st-minute dismissal. The Germans now play the hosts on Saturday.

He's turned 18 now. Can we please give him a pro contract and ship him off on loan to some mid-to low-tier Bundesliga club (excluding BVB  ) so that he won't want out soon like Emre Can and Hojbjerg?

Gaudino is different to Hojbjerg and Can in that his rise isn't because of his physicality, it's his technique and intelligence. This makes him a whole different prospect. Early bloomers physically may plateau far sooner, so Gaudino has a lot more room to grow into than those two.

And that's why it makes even more sense to loan him now and get him back when he is physically developed.

Gaudino, the promising midfielder

Image

Gianluca had few minutes of action throughout the season, but today, Pep decided to rest Xabi Alonso. The young midfielder was one of the surprises of the starting lineup, and also one of the most surprising players at the Allianz Arena today.

Gaudino was part of the brand-new midfield, alongside Højbjerg and Schweinsteiger.

GAUDINO AND STARKE COMMIT FUTURE TO BAYERN; BENATIA BLOW

Image

Gianluca Gaudino (pictured) and Tom Starke have agreed new contracts with Bayern München

Munich - FC Bayern München duo Gianluca Gaudino and Tom Starke have both extended their contracts with the Bundesliga leaders.

Gaudino, 18, has put pen to paper on a new four-year contract - his first professional deal - while 33-year-old custodian Starke has signed a one-year extension to his previous contract, which was due to expire in the summer.

Benatia ruled out

Pep Guardiola's side consolidated their position at the top of the table with a 2-0 win over SC Freiburg on Tuesday evening, but the victory came at a price: Morocco centre-back Medhi Benatia had to be replaced after 39 minutes of the Matchday 16 encounter with a groin problem and will now be unavailable for the Bavarians' final clash of 2014 against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Friday evening.

As well as Benatia, midfielder Xabi Alonso and striker Robert Lewandowski were also forced off with knocks at the Allianz Arena and are now rated as doubtful for the Matchday 17 opener against the 05ers, who were held to a goalless draw at 1. FC Köln on Tuesday evening.

New contracts: Tom #Starke (33) extends until 2016. Gianluca #Gaudino (18) now officially a first-team player, 4-year deal until 2018!—
