Exactly, with all due respect ; what is going to gain by playing for St.Gallen?

More than he's gaining playing for FC Bayern II.

I think we should create a good relationship with clubs like St. Gallen... with more youth players being loaned to such clubs. I think that's a perfect environment for a young player... even better than loaning them to our rivals, who can always turn greedy and change plans.

Edit: Just checked out who is their manager and turns out that it is a certain Josef Zinnbauer, who happens to be the infamous former Hamburger manager who dealt with Green... not a good sign. Actually, I take back what I said... :?

http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bund ... ammer.html

"You need to distinguish. There's David Alaba, who'd have failed when he was loaned to Hoffenheim. Those young players are in a transitional period in which it is very hard to get into the first team directly. Harder than ever. They need to make the next step. That's not all that easy here."
Sammer on the claim, young talents recently found it hard to break into the first team.

See, if you're good enough you'll make it, directly or indirectly. If not, bye bye.

It's official: Loaned to St. Gallen until the end of the 2016/17 season. If all goes well he'll be turning 21, very similar to Kroos' loan except St. Gallen aren't a top German club. Boy I hope he turns out good.

This is your time to either make it or break it....I feel like if he does well for the rest of the season they might end the loan and put him somewhere else

Even if you play in the weaker league, that sometimes can be better. Why? Well, Modrić played his last season in Croatian league even though he was more than 3 classes above the all players. He had been practically losing his time playing on the Croatian pastures, dominating the whole league before he moved from Dinamo to Tottenhem for 24 mil €. The same thing was with Eduardo da Silva and Vedran Ćorluka one year earlier.

If Gaudino is motivated and if he's really got something, he'll prove it in Switzerland. Regular playing time and his will and motivation will help him. A lot of things have to fit together and I think Benatia is the best proof of that.

Has anyone followed his progress on loan at St Gallen? Haven't heard anything myself.

Let me answer my own question. He made his debut in the last match and played for the full 90 minutes. The official report of St Gallen said it was a successful debut and he played well on the ball. http://www.fcsg.ch/saison-201516/spielb ... rt/single/

I'm following him like a hawk and last night he played his second consecutive full 90-minute match, registering the match-winning assist in a 1-0 win :D Promising progress! He definitely belongs in top division football.

^^ Are there any videos or clips of the game available? I suspect not, but I'd also be keen to see how he's progressing. He particularly needed to get more physical - the skills and vision were there.
