Sorry but after having already gone through a number of Pep or no Pep discussions after posting an observation like that I didn't want this thread to go in that direction as well and didn't read the humour in the second part of your post, a wink would have helped :)

What are the implications? Let's say the investigations conclude he was involved in corruption, are we looking at prison time? After the Hoeness gaffe, the club can't afford Beckenbauer being convicted. The PR backlash from the double blow would be really bad.

Honorary presitdent is no official function. Basically a title of appreciation for what he has done in the past.

He is still associated with the club, official function or not. And he is still a former acting president of the club. The bad PR we will get if he is convicted will be extreme.

Nah he won't be... It's just about his trip to Qatar before the WC was given to them... FIFA will be careful about that - might bring up more unwanted stuff ;)
And it's not about prison, merely a fine is in realms of possibility... It's not about the German World Cup and it's nort a regular court...
Also, Uli will most likely be out within the next 6-8 months...

I am Maltese and know a thing or two about this saga (for the record I attended that game and I thank Josef Mifsud and Franz for that) Darmanin Demajo (current MFA Pres) must go to f*** off ... He is doing all to win a case against his predessessor as MFA Pres. so this case will help him even further... that is why he is pushing it.
Darmanin Demajo (the current MFA Pres) should also tells us that in May 2000 England NT came here too ... to play a friendly match... and also S.Africa before the vote for the 2010 decision...
He'd better tackle the mafia in our local football... pff
