The club's former coach says die Roten have an unfair advantage domestically, while admitting he would return to coaching if the right opportunity arose

Felix Magath believes Bayern Munich should quit the Bundesliga as a result of their dominance in Germany's top flight.

The Bavarians won the treble last season and have now amassed 22 league titles, with only Borussia Dortmund realistic rivals to their league crown.

Magath has coached eight different teams in the Bundesliga, including die Roten, and suggested the creation of a super league containing Europe’s best teams could be a solution.

“You would have to exclude them from the domestic competition - a Europe League would be more telling,” the 60-year-old told Hamburger Morgenpost.

“I see the league as a competition where first place is permanently assigned to Bayern Munich.

“The clubs that play constantly in the Champions League have huge advantages.”

Magath is not currently coaching after leaving Wolfsburg in October 2012, but admits he would consider a return under the right circumstances.

“If somewhere there is a situation in which there is a club I am attracted helping, and its managers see it as well, then I’m willing to leave my family in Munich.” [source]

Top four European league champions in the past ten years:
Germany: 5 different champions(Weder Bremen, Bayern, BvB, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg)
Spain: 3 different champions(Valencia, R.Madrid, Barcelona)
England: 4 different champions(Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Man C)
Italy: 3 different champions(Milan, Juve, Inter)

What is Magath smoking?

Should we take this as a complement, or just call in the drug squad? :?

It is Magath. The man is still clearly bitter about his sacking from Bayern coach.

Thank you Magath for helping us dodge a bullet!

When he was Bayern coach, Magath prevented the transfer of David Odonkor to Bayern. Hoeness and Rummenigge wanted him, but Magath was against the transfer. In hindsight, he was proved right! [source]

Perhaps... But I'd say he's bitter because he left fantastic club like Wolfsburg. Magath built the club by his own credit and then blew up everything with eternal losers[S04].
He can only regret for that, when he was doing awesome job as a somekind of English manager(coach and sport director). Not just Magath, but entire Budesliga can. Today Germany would have 3 powerful clubs in Bayern, Wolfsburg and Dortmund, with the rest of competition in terms of Schalke, Leverkusen, Gladbach.
I hope this will be in future. Currently the situation in BuLi is exactly as it should be for a longer period.

First german manager in the 'best league of the world". I never really liked Magath, but this time I really hope he can do well with Fulham. Would be amazing if the germans are taking over in England in terms of managers as well...
