Really hope that Felix and Niklas play as CBs for the pre season friendly games. I would be massively disappointed with Carlo if he fails to blood in the youngsters in the upcoming season.

^ That won't be a problem.

Pre season friendlies begin on 9th July and it's not until 15th July that we play a decent team. The Confederations Cup final is on 2nd July.

We play Werder, Gladbach and Hoffenhiem in 45 minute games on 15th. Arsenal is on 19th. Assuming that Niklas does play in the final on July 2, it still means two good weeks of rest, that's a pretty decent time to recharge for a guy who's only 21 years old. Also, I don't know why young players under the age of 25 would be looking for "rest" anyway. You're young and should be raring to go in every game. Rest should only be on your mind when you start nearing 30.

Are you missing Pep's muscle injuries or sth?!

Most players are raring to go for every game, but muscles and joints simply do not work like that. Your body is deteriorating after you turn 18. Simple fact, rest is important. Not to mention for focus as well.

Felix Götze is in the Germany U19 squad currently playing in the 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. In the first two group stage matches (1-4 loss to the Netherlands and a 3-0 win against Bulgaria) he was an unused sub. In two days' time, Germany U19 will play England U19 in the final group stage match.

He came on in the 81' with Germany U19 losing 3-1 and eventually lost 4-1 to England U19. This means that they finished in 3rd place in the group and therefore got eliminated.

I saw Bayern's training video and Felix looked short and weak compared to Hummels. Hummels looked much bigger than him. Gotze looks kinda weak for a CB. Modern day central defenders must be physically very strong. Hopefully he can get bigger and stronger with age.

Does anyone think this guy might actually make it at Bayern?

I think we have way too much competition at CB for that to happen but I actually like him so far.

he's not too bad, and only 19. not sure if he'll ever be truly Bayern level, but I could picture him being a solid choice for a mid-table BL team

I like the lad, especially his clean tackles

Maybe Kimmich back-up will be him in the future.

Same for Friedl (even if he wasn't good today) for Alaba.
Bayern 3-3-3-1 build-up under Heynckes :
Neuer - Boateng Hummels Thiago - Kimmich Vidal Alaba - Robben Müller James - Lewandowski
Neuer- Boateng Vidal Hummels- Kimmich Martinez Alaba- Robben James Ribéry- Lewandowski

Well, when his older brother was 18 he was already playing regularly for Germany. 19 is not too old but not too young either. After all, Kroos, Alaba and Hojbjerg all made their debuts aged 17.
