He also became Bayern's youngest ever player in a competitive fixture, at 17 years, 7 months and 8 days old.[13] At age 17 years, 8 months and 13 days, he made his UEFA Champions League debut against ACF Fiorentina on 9 March 2010.[14]

That's Alaba^^. Age won't be a problem. Can turns 18 next Thursday, so he will also be eligible for a senior contract. :)

I hope we get to see him in competitive fixtures this season (his stats indicate he's good enough), but I don't think we will. Next season he'll probably be in the squad though.

Exactly.

Alaba played 1st professional match at the age of 17 under van Gaal and Kroos with 17-18 under Hitzfeld. We can expect Can also to introduce in Bundesliga at this age.

It was pun intended. Why do we need to compare Can with Gotze, when Can would definitely be better he obviously is bigger :P

Well.. Now he is 18... I'm waiting for him to sign a 5-year contract with us.... [-o<

But in reality, they'll sign a stupid contract until 2014 with him... #-o

DFB sporting director Matthias Sammer is worried about Emre Can.

"The fact that Emre plays in the Under-17 World Cup and the Under-17 European Championship in the same year and more games as a pro in the men's field is not right," said Sammer, SZ, "but the DFB does not make FIFA's calendar." The German association protects the players, as far as they can. They had given the Under-17 World Cup participants an "extra half a year to be left in peace," so they could concentrate on vacation, schools and their clubs.

Despite this, after Bastian Schweinsteiger was injured, it is possible that Emre Can is promoted to the first team squad.
