His development shouldn't be rushed. After all, he's ten years younger than Schweini... which would make him his logical successor.

Exactly. Hes only 17 now so in two seasons he'll be Alaba's age. IMO instead of planning for him to stay at bayern we should let him play one more year in the reserves and then try to loan him out as we did with Alaba (assuming we sign an extended contract with him to avoid an Ekici situation). Id love to see him play alongside Schweini but i see that happening quite a few years from now, especially if Heynckes' comments about Vidal are true.

Yeah that's what I meant playing alongside Schweini in the future, not now  But let's say in 3 years time, he'll be as old as Mueller from 2 seasons ago, so we could give it a shot. Until then we should work hard to develop him well and of course keeping him ( *cough* Hummels *cough*)

Well as long as Bayern don't F**K up this player too and sell him like so many promising youth players before him. The only thing I hate about Bayern is exactly that -- selling off the promising players. True we have had many promising youth players make the rise to the first team like Schweini and Co. -- but think of all those that are gone and lost -- Hummels comes to mind.

We were lucky with Müller - most youths can't handle such a rapid rise. Bayern has burnt itself with a lot of young talent, as well.

That's exactly what we need to do with him... =D>

Not so much a rapid rise, but just a rise in general. With the right coach we won't get burned. I hope Joncker and Heynckes will do our youth system proud again -- we saw last couple of seasons where it went down hill.

Veery nice. Now tie him down to a long-term contract and it'll be perfect.

I watched a game against England.

He was really something...he was everywhere and showed great composure for a youngster. He could easily play in BL even if he is 17 years old. I say loan him for 2 years to some BL club where he will get the playing time as soon as he signs professional contract.

Id prefer to see him play this season with the reserves actually. If im correct he played mainly for the U19 team last year (correct me if im wrong). Then we could loan him a year from now to a BL team and hed still only be 18. In fact, hed be about the the same age as Alaba was when we loaned him.
