LVG - better talent spotter
Heynckes: fields the better team overall and a better manager.

I feel so gutted for Alaba.

He deserves to be at that final, especially with such a nonsense booking for a handball that he could do nothing about.

I hope that ref gives him a personal apology for cheating him out of possibly the biggest night of his career.

I feel sad for him! He has played so well and our defence has looked so much better since he started playing as a LB.
He's only 19 but to miss the chance to play in a CL Final @home ground is sheer badluck.
He has very bright future ahead and will get to more CL finals (and obviously win them), may be more than anyone! May be a record of that! 8)
Come 19th May and the trophy in his hands would definitely make him feel good! like real good! As much good as I'll feel! like real goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!

Unbelievable kid! He's a mere 6 days older than me, yet if I had to take the first penalty in a shootout in the Bernabeu, I'd shit my pants and cry in a corner. And he didn't even blink.

Remember he did the same v Gladbach in the Pokal. I know it's early, but he has the makings of a future captain in him.

The kid just makes me proud over and over... I can't believe we have found such a jewel for LB in our ranks after so many years without proper full backs...

Louis van Gaal in his first season had an idea with Alaba, to put him on LB and create a WC player. He did if we remember match against Fiorentina where Alaba was playing and demonstrated great preformance.

Today, we have 19-year-old guy who killed Ronaldo twice just as very experienced Lahm, together with his friend Ribery raped RM's right side and they showed something brutal, something new, something spectacular and very promising for next 5 years.

Alaba is just a kid, but a damn good player who doesn't care about name of opponents, his own years, anything else around... He is just proving and proving that he is a real one and that he wants to grow up to world class. He will be, just keep forcing him on the LB and we are kings. 8)

After this season, I would immediately put a new 5-year contract on the desk for Alaba, increase his earnings, bonuses and have a peace in the house and jelous people around the Europe.

I have to admit that he developed a lot in defense.

Lvg saw the potential lb in him but forcing him play there too early without given some time to develop defencively was a mistake IMO. Heynches did that more smoothly , preparing him against lower teams and a year later so he was more mature.

We should offer him a good contract asap.

It is weird, ain't it. LvG can spot the talent, but Jupp actually knows how to nurture it...

LVG can also nurture talents (Muller) but his headstrong nature and his ego spoilt every thing.
