Speak about 1st PSG's goal, it's not completely Alaba's fault, in theory, the one needs to take care of Alves in defense is Vidal or James because Alaba's job in this case in following Mbappe while Sule mark Cavani and Javi cover Kimmich for letting Neymar goes.

But I totally agreed that Alaba is in shit form, since long time ago, may be when Ribery start to downhill and Pep move him to center or up high to midfield.
Those positions really **** up his mindset as a LB, in both defense and attack. he no longer tackle or running to steal the ball like a wingback anymore but keep marking and covering the space like a real CB, like Hummels or Boateng. He prefer follow and block the ball out instead of pushing opponent to the side.
in attacking, as we see for long time, his crossing is painful to watch, even I can do it better. :coffee:
his threat in attacking was from his speed and overlapping opponent RB but now even the trash RB in bundesliga can stop him easily.

I don't really know what problem he has atm but in term of professional footballer, this boy need to step up his performance or the Board can consider some serious talk with him, like "you are no longer untouchable".

Maybe he's finished as a LB...

He has been getting worse since 2015 now. After Pep left Bayern he has been in a free fall.

Still too soon to label him “finished” but I really hope he can get his act together soon.

'Finished as a LB'... he started to get worse since he started talking about wanting to play in midfield.

Then sell him. Sorry if that sounds harsh but Bayern are stacked in midfield. Next year we will in all likelihood have Goretzka and maybe an improved Renato. If he wants to play in the midfield so bad then it’s time to move on for the club and Alaba.

Also, please never ever play him at CB again. I’d rather see a CB pairing involving Felix rather than seeing Alaba at CB again.

He's not half of what he used to be before 2014... Him and Ribery used to dominate on that wing.

I really like Alaba. Plus, who do you bring in that would be better? Maybe Sandro, but surely Marcelo wouldn't come. Do you try and go after Guerrero? Alaba isn't in good form for sure, but let's be patient with him for the time being.

Alaba is still very very good..still ONLY marcelo is better than him..you guys have turned a blind eye towards his good performances and are just seeing the bad ones. Watch him against hertha without bias and u will know.
I will not trade those sandros, mendys and whoevers for him ..he is one of us and he has much higher ceiling than them and every player goes through tough times..He will definitely come good.
His only problem he isn't a german.

That's not his problem. His problem is that he isn't performing. End of it. Everybody wants to love Alaba. He's a homegrown Supertalent who established himself in the first team at an extremely young age. Hell, he's my favorite player alongside Müller. But he isn't performing for a long while now. That needs to change. No turning a blind eye on that.

I think we should check Alaba like Gotze. No reason for the horrendous decline. I couldn't help but think perhaps Alaba is also sick.

I have a hunch that given a consistent position/tactic and a new coach we'll see Alaba's perfomances miraculously improve

Jupp: "Mats Hummels is world class, he has everything you need. Boateng is similar when fit. Alaba has to bring back his old top class level.

Finaly someone with balls in the club, who is not afraid to say it in public.

He is coming from an injury so we should be calm and give him time and a good partner in the left side.
