Is football really becoming popular in India ?
I always wondered why your country seems to have no interest in sports besides cricket.

India is a very big country..there are a 5 states which are football crazy but rest 20 are cricket crazy..but ISL is turning the tables it seems..Lots of big names ..big owners..few owners are cricket legends and so even the cricket crazy people are slowly turning up..the previous(inaugural) edition of ISL had higher attendance than French Ligue1!

I thought he wants security for his family
Doubt it. I think he'd rather try and find a club in germany/austria.

sigh.. #-o #-o
There are a few disturbed areas and maniacs which is expected in a population of 128 crores..
but I feel very sad that people see us this way..The media is to blame here(at least partially)..
Instead of reinforcing the positives..they just keep on reporting about the crimes just for trps or..gossip about the filmstars..
The Mars mission received coverage for just 5 mins in the breaking news segment but the rest 55 mins were about which filmstar is dating whom..a cat climbed over a wall..a person was caused shoplifting in such and such mall..etc
I don't think there's a country where a single day goes by without a case of shoplifting, drunk driving, burglary or people getting conned..
In case of nepal earthquake an Indian journalist asked a person who had lost his whole family.."Right,how are you feeling after losing all your family?"
This is the extent they go to just for TRPs
The rape cases have come down by 60% over the past 4 years but..nobody reported that..
hence you perceive us this way..

The mainstream medias are not the only ones to blame, some people are just stupid and arrogant.

In India, a country of over 1.2 billion people, 24,206 rapes were reported in 2011. The same year in the United States, a nation of 300 million, 83,425 rapes were reported. In the United States, every 6.2 minutes a woman is raped.
The UK has a population of about 56.2 million. Fifty-one percent are female. In 2011 there were 14,624 rapes reported. Of which 24% resulted in a “conviction or caution” compared to 26% in India.

At least we Indians have courage to Revolt for safety of our daughters and sisters....now let me ask you a question Do girls still get raped around town nowadays in UK and USA?
