In recent memory I can think of Rabiot and *sort of* Verratti and Marquinhos, as well as Kaka in particular way back when. Any other players whose developments can be attributed to him?

tbh I don't think he is good at that... at his milan days ... he had one of the oldest teams ever... and won two CL and lost another...
He likes to play with the old guard.
At Chelsea he could not either because of the greed of the owners and the same at RM.
At PSG I do not follow closely enough the French league so I cannot say any thing.
Maybe he will at our club... starting from Gaudino. Whom in another thread Germanamerican told us that on kicker he read that he wants to leave.

Well, who is actually? YOu can say Guardiola did it with Messi maybe... But that's still Messi... He gave some others a shot as well, granted... But he did nothing of the sort here... Jupp did it with Kroos, and gave aLaba a shot, but apart from that, neither did he... I even doubt van Gaal did it with Müller... I think a coach can only do so much - but he has to have an eye for talent... That Guardiola has, without a doubt... But I think so does Ancelotti...

LvG gave us: Badstuber, Alaba, Mueller
He also promoted Contento and Kraft but
I think Pep did well with youths at barca - I don't think one can criticize him about this. Overall even at bayern he gave the chance to many but then it is the player who has to build on that trust. The coach gives you the chance and you have to grab it...

Ambrosini, Serginho, Gattuso, Pirlo.. He gets the most out of players like Sheva, Inzaghi, CR7, takes good players into another level. Even if not all homegrown they reached success under him... Gattuso was a case to study...

Alaba was on loan at Hoff'... But still in that aspect LvG gave us the most.

I'm mostly worried about Kimmich. The guy is our crowning jewel. Coman I get a feeling will fluorish quite well under Ancelotti.

Don't want him to be as pragmatic about youth as van Gaal, who refused Neuer for the sake of playing freaking Kraft, but hopefully Ancelotti can bring some sort of originality back since Müller and Alaba would soon not be considered young players anymore, if not already. Kimmich is one of the big reasons why I wanted Pep to stay. I want to see the next Busquets/Alonso being developed.

I am keeping my fingers crossed because Bayern has a totally different mentality than all the other employers ancelotti had. None of them believe in their respective youth set up. We at Bayern have a different culture.

It's not a big deal, we know what we're doing. I'm just really fond of Kimmich in particular and don't want to see him wasted after Pep has started moulding him.

He took an AC Milan past their golden generation... He made that team from left outs, rejects from their rivals... Pirlo, Inzaghi, Seedorf... And good South American scouting. Their academy was dead by that time...
I don't remember him giving anyone a "Hummels", their academy really sucked...
He did an amazing job at AC Milan...

But did they really care? AC Milan fans booed and whistled to their legend and captain Maldini in his last game for them. They're a disgrace...

Then Chelsea, PSG, RM, do those teams care about that stuff? I don't think so...

Not in Ancelotti's time. Although they never spent as much as today's oil clubs, Milan was one of the first money clubs who tried (and succeeded) to buy success thanks to Berlusconi. Nowadays they're bankrupt and have no choice but to rely on youths and free transfers.

Which brings me to another point. People have often said that Guardiola can only win in big clubs with great squads, but the reality is that Ancelotti has managed many of the biggest spenders in Europe. Not that I consider that to be a bad thing, but let's put things into perspective and be fair.
Super Bayern! Super Bayern! Hey! Hey!

Havin managed double the clubs he should be entitled to spend double as much... ;)
Also, he was at Cheslki in their "bad" phase ansd at RM when they bought Bale... So yeah...
No one will win anything withoit spending - the questinon is how much on how many players and what is the outcome...
