"Football is not complicated. Good football is simple".
(You wrote during the Euros that Arrigo Sacchi's Milan could do both: Play with possession and counter-attack): The most important word in football is balance.

So different than some kind of genius’s idea (I don’t even want to mention his name) who thinks that football is a complicated game based on intricate passing patterns that only players with an extremely high IQ can play and the training ground is not even enough so during the game the coach needs a joystick on the sidelines.

This struck me. It'll be interesting to see what happens if he gives a lot of weight to the opinion of the veterans, such as Lahm and Ribery. Remember the confusion that arose (according to Pep) in the Real Madrid game?

I would imagine someone like Carlotti could handle the demands of tactical freedom/tweaking from his players better than Pep, if only because Carlotti really doesn't care about the grand tactical (uhh, operational? I loathe to use the word strategy in conjunction to football tactics) scheme as dogmatically. No half-measures and all that.

Indeed, though I'm aiming for the portmanteau of his names instead.

LOL. I have been an anti-Pep even before he came to Munich. I can't stand the guy.

BTW, the picture next to the Bayern Logo in my Avatar is me and it never crossed my mind that I look like Pep so I am thinking about changing it

I settle for 1% of his annual salary = $180,000.
