I think he will kick it in the second half of the season...when shite starts to get more serious

I thought Vidal was great.

His tenacity carried the team imo.... Reminds me of the diego costa effect on Chelsea...

hopefully, one day we can see vidal-javi-thiago

I guess that won't happen with Pep here... He's not going to play Javi in midfield...

Not this shit again. He'll play the middle CB in a 3 at the back formation with Thiago and Vidal in front of him, or interchangeably as CDM in 4-3-3. They're basically the same formation.

I thought he had a solid game.... he played a little deeper at times than he did at Juventus.... but I thought his decision making with the ball and his distributions were fantastic.... he had a couple of long balls that were right on the money

he was kinda quiet in what he does best, which is run around like a maniac winning balls and making tackles..... but thats hard to do when the other team rarely has the ball..... I think he's the kind of player whose impact is most felt playing against top competition for this very reason..... when we play against top teams, we'll see he's the kind of player we've been missing for the past 1-2 years

obviously that goal woulda been nice, and thats a chance he'll likely finish more often than not

but overall, a solid debut.... I'd give him a solid B

until I see Javi stay healthy for more than 3-4 weeks straight, I wouldnt count on him to play a significant role either

to me, he's a bench player until he proves otherwise and earns a starting spot back

Nah, the difference is that you have 3 CBs and thus play more offensively with your L and RB - but you lose a midfielder in the end...
Let'S just wait and see - I doubt that he plays him at all...

Vidal putting in a classic Vidal performance vs Leverkusen....

as I stated a few posts earlier, I think his impact is more felt vs better competition than vs teams where we dominate and possess the ball 80% of the time

I agree! The aggression that he brings to the midfield is hard to ignore, there was never a challenge I thought he was gonna lose.

His energy is outstanding but it's clear his impact will be seen in the big games, there isn't too much ball winning to do when we're already dominating.

He's also a very skilful player.

Vidal asked to be released from Chile's next match to go back to Munich for personal reasons.
