He also won the most duels(28), had the best successful pass rate (88) and ran the most distance after Müller and Kimmich (11 km.)

That's mostly because Vidal is starter XI material and a player of his caliber will unrest the dressing room if he doesn't start regularly unlike any other midfielder in the squad(including Javi,Thiago) Arturo will be the only one who will call it straight away and make noise. So obviously the rejuvenation or the re-shape of the midfield will have casualties and Vidal has the package to be the first to go(age, style of play, transfer fee, complain)

Again, I'd like him to stay and rotate with Javi for the DM role but I don't know if the player himself will accept that since he can find a better contract at a top club while being a starter. If Arturo gets sold I believe that we should sign a proper DM as a J.Martinez back up.

I still am of the opinion that if the club wanted to extend him they would've done so by now (or at least started talks). I'm not sure the context of his recent quotes, maybe it was a direct answer to a specific question...but it seems a lot of the time when a player comes out and says "I'd like to extend my contract" it usually means the club hasn't given it much consideration as of yet.

I understand that the board want to rejuvenate the squad, but this guy seems more younger than any other player when you watch him running everywhere and fighting all the duels for the ball.

Please keep him.. [-o<

There is a reason Heynckes use him for champions league games.

Meh. Think that's overstating the value of "running everywhere and fighting all the duels for the ball". Sebastian Rode was great at that part of the game, too.
Heynckes is a great coach, but even great coaches have their pet players. It's no secret Vidal has LONG been one of Jupp's favorites.
There was a reason Guardiola played Alonso for champions league games, too. Doesn't mean it's correct.

He is iur 2nd or 3rd goal threat this season, for his position that's amazing. If you guys complain about Vidal, you won't be satisfied with any MF in the current football scene.

kroos was the pet player for heynckes, and using the turtle alonso or rode as comparison with Vidal is very very unfair and out of reason.

Vidal on Jupp Heynckes: "It would be great if he stayed. He definitely has what it takes to be our coach for many more years, but it's all up to him. Winning the league is really nice but this club needs more titles. Such a big club as Bayern needs to win the Bundesliga, the DFB Pokal and the Champions League.Jupp shaped me and taught me football at Bayer Leverkusen when I was a very young player. [Kicker]

Vidal on Goretzka: At the moment, you cannot predict whether Goretzka will play or where he will play. Of course, he is a class player, otherwise he would not be joining Bayern, but we will have to wait and see how things develop.Bayern is all I want and need. I'm just thinking about Bayern and it is my great dream to win the Champions League. That's why I came here in the first place. [Kicker]
