Former Iran and Bayern Munich striker Ali Daei was in hospital with a head injury following a car accident Saturday, Fars news agency reported in Iran.

Daei, 42, who is coach of Rah Ahan Tehran, was in his own car on the way to Tehran after an away match at Isfahan in central Iran when the accident happened, Fars reported.

He was being kept in hospital for treatment to a head injury, but the injury was not life-threatening, the report said.

Daei played in Germany from 1997 to 2002 for Armimnia Bielefeld, Bayern Munich and Hertha Berlin. He captained the Iran national team, scoring 109 goals in 149 international games.

sorry Ali, I wish you a speedy recovery. 109 goals in 147 appearances is world class. Good products from Bayern Munchen.
